Circleville Park was an adventure today. I took my granddaughters there for a fun filled fishing trip and was very surprised. It has been several years since I have visited the park even though I live in the town. My children had grown and my grandchildren had not yet reached an age that was appropriate to be close to water without a barrier so it wasn't a destination on the top of our visit list. However today it was. The park was clean and very well manicured. The playground(s) was in excellent condition! The pavilions and picnic areas were clean and well maintained by both the town and the residents that use the facilities. I was happy to see that the addition of a beautiful walking path around the pond was added since I visited last as well as a few horseshoe pits have been installed. As a whole I would love to give a 5 star rating because it is absolutely beautiful....BUT...I can't because the pond is disgusting! I remember swimming in that pond, playing on that beach, boating in that water...i can't imagine anyone boating in that water.... much less swimming!!!! There must be something that they can do to clean this up... It looks like a muddy, algea filled, smelly mess that is full of some very large snapping turtles. I can't imagine anyone swimming in that water! We fished today and the water stained our dobber....
Read moreI was arriving as camp was letting out, my son wanted to go swimming in the lake for 3$ I luckily had in my pocket! So there were many of those snail shells I’m not sure what they are but they smell really bad like diarrhea to be honest, and I noticed that my son smelled so bad from swimming in there so we had to immediately shower when we got home, but he had a blast nevertheless, I just wish they had a shower system to rinse off after. They have a little foot shower by the bathrooms but to get lake guck off you here should definitely be a shower. Idk what that smell is but I smelled like it also and I didn’t even go in. I wonder if any parents notice this with their children coming home...
Read moreWe had our 1 year olds birthday party at circleville park. So if you are throwing a birthday party. You can either pay (175$ if you live out of orange county or 75$ for residents) to reserve a pavilion. The other option is to just use the picnic tables to throw your party. 1st come 1st serve.
You can drive through the security gates to bring in your party supplies and to clean up.
There is bathrooms, lake access (with a beach) 3$ a person. There is paddle boats (I believe they were 4-5$) and you also can fish. There is also multiple play sets for kids.
Definitely bring lots of water bc it can get very hot.
We had a great time and will 100%...
