I found this place and decided to buy my boyfriend a gift cert. for Christmas for a remote start. There is a life time warranty and the price was decent. The guy I originally spoke to, was very nice when I bought the cert and I asked what the process was and if he just has to drop the car off and pick it up later on. The guy said yes….so I was happy with my purchase. Unfortunately, when it came time to get it done, my boyfriend got the run around. We live half an hour away and when he showed up looking to drop it off, they wouldn’t allow it (meanwhile the install only takes 30 mins, which was told to him by someone at the shop, and they can’t possibly be THAT booked) and he was told he needed an apt. He made one, was about 20 mins late and they gave his spot to someone else already, without calling him first. He was frustrated with the service at this point and asked for a refund. Which they do not give. He left the car and went back to pick it up the next day. He honestly felt like since the gift cert was already purchased, they did not care about giving him good customer service and did not care about how much of an inconvenience they were causing him. If the entire process was properly explained to me when I purchased the gift cert, instead of making it seem like it was as simple as dropping the car off, we would have been more prepared. I am hoping the work done, does not give us any problems and is actually top notch. It’s the least they could guarantee because customer service needs work.
update since I can not respond to the shop......
I had a remote starter put in my wife's car about 6 months ago for her birthday from these clowns, after it was installed the owner called me and told me to pick up the car it was all set. So i went and got the car (paid for the services), and went on my way. The same day my wife used it to start her car and she smelled a electrical foul smell in her car. Then the car a (2015 Honda civic) stopped running and she immediately called me. We had to tow the car to formula H in Middletown where the mechanics are true and honest( been using them over 10 years) they didn't want to be involved in the situation but it was diagnosed as burning out the transponder for the ignition aswell as frying the ECU( cpu in car). I then called rolling thunder and spoke with the owner and told him what happened. He then refused to admit that it happened from him and then accused formula H of doing it to make money off me. As i stated before this happend prior to me having to tow and fix the car because of ROLLING THUNDER'S lack of knowledge and negligence on installing this remote starter. The owner refused to go to the mechanic shop and explain to the mechanci exactly what he did. I also called him over a dozen times and he wouldn't answer the phone he would have his techs do it and have them take a message for him.
Now he may of installed hundreds of these units, we unfortunately had to deal with a installer either being lazy, incompetent or stoned the day of my installation. STAY AWAY FROM THESE CROOKS IF THEY MAKE A MISTAKE OR SCREW UP THEY WON'T STAND BY THEIR PRODUCT OR MAN UP TO ANY MISTAKES. BUYER'S BEWARE IT COST ME THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS IN MECHANICAL REPAIRS BECAUSE OF ROLLING THUNDER'S NEGLIGENCE!!! Wish i could...
Read moreTerrible customer service! My husband was called to bring my mother’s car in for a remote starter because they had a no show appointment. My husband gets there and the customer ended up showing up an hour late. Instead on rescheduling that person, my husband had to wait. Which would have been fine until the installer BROKE a part on the car that had absolutely nothing to do with the remote starter install. My husband was told they would “make it right” and “squeeze us in” when the part was acquired. At that point, my husband had been there for over three hours. He leaves and has to immediately turn around and return because the interior lights weren’t working after the remote starter install. After spending close to four hours there, he left. We found the part the next day and called Rolling Thunder to “make it right.” We were then told that they were too busy to fix it. Not only did it cost us over $100 to fix their error somewhere else, there wasn’t even a hint of apology on their part. I’m sure if there is a response to this, it’ll be excuses and accusations that this wasn’t what actually happened since they can’t seem to take responsibility for their mistakes (based on this experience and some other reviews I’ve since read)....
