Ice Caves Trail at Sam's Point — Attraction in Town of Wawarsing

Very tiny parking lot at the trailhead and not accessible otherwise. Very unreasonable rangers make it even worse: we circled around three times and eventually saw cars coming out but the guard said they will not let cars in until a "bulk number" of ten spots become available. And they purposefully would not tell you how far it's till they reach the number because they "get super annoyed because people will wait and count for them"...Just don't understand why they want to make people's life harder this way.

Update: not happy about the owners vague and careless response at all. Don't know what safety problem could letting next visitor in when vacancy becomes available cause. And why is that annoying in the first place?! More ridiculously, why them being annoyed is more important/ok than annoying many other hard trying sincere visitors?! The policy needs a lot improvement...

If you're looking for a exciting hike this is it! You can quickly get to the elevation point the viewing area of spectacular View. I have done many hikes before and this one is very quick gratification. You have to spectacular views about 20 minutes up the mountain. Once you get to the top you cannot believe how level the mountain is. Once you reach the summit about a half a mile you'll reach the Ice Caves now this is exciting I have done it in good and bad weather and it definitely is a thrill. If you're going on a side they bring lots of sunblock and water because there is limited shade. There are many caves and crevices to explore and we did find ice in the middle of a hot day in July. Truly one of the best hikes in America! The switchbacks are a proper incline for all ages and very dog friendly with complete shade on the way up! The grounds are kept in a great natural shape with an amazing supportive team. $10 to park for access. Beyond worth it as the hike to and down into the caves was very stable and manicured. Our boxer knows parkour and had a wonderful time with us. On a very warm day, walking through the ice caves had me looking forward to the heat again!!
