I don’t think I could ever say enough good things about this place! I just got back from my final haunt of the 2024 spooky season and can’t stop smiling because I had such a great time. I make a point to try and stop at least 3 times during haunted house time because there’s usually something different every time I go which keeps it exciting. I came in their first year of being opened and loved the place and was told there would be big changes the next year and was blown away by how much they managed to upgrade the place that I already thought was fantastic. Then, heading into this year they added a whole new house. I don’t see many local haunts working as hard as they do to add on and keep things fresh. So they now have 4 houses which are all incredible and fit to scare everyone with the various themes. The whole staff is so nice, and began to recognize me this year when I’d stop in which shows great care that they can pick out a returning customer’s face. The actors are so interactive in the houses so there is plenty of entertainment and the sets are also so cool and detailed to look at. They’ve always got music and different lights to set the tone. They also have concessions, a Halloween shop, 3 mini 5 minute escape rooms as well as 2 longer escapes meant for groups, and hatchet throwing. One of my favorite things about this haunt is that they work year round to keep the spirit alive for big fans like myself, opening their doors for a Christmas and Valentine’s Day haunt for 2 nights each. The Valentine’s haunt was spectacular last year, they allowed a limited number of guests to purchase an exclusive package that included a candlelit dinner before the houses opened. And that dinner is one I’ll never forget the food was actually so good and their waitstaff was all in costume making it an unforgettable thrill. Shoutout to their owner Dakota for being so wonderful to me every time I come, and “Cheese” for being so fun to interact with. I should also mention they charge incredibly reasonable for the 4 houses included, I think they are the least costly in the area for one of the best and biggest haunts. They offer plenty of discount nights too! They have my full support and I can’t wait to come back for this year’s off-season haunts and see what the next Halloween season has in store! Keep it up 7 Gates, I’m so glad we have you...
Read moreFor a first year haunt, they did a really good job with everything! The staff really made it a great experience. I'm not usually a fan of dark houses but they did a good job with it and it's nice and long in duration. The other two houses were shorter but there is a ton of detail and not much dead space. We talked with Dakota, the mastermind of the operation, who takes great pride in what he does. We talked about several different haunts, and as a bonus he let us go through again so we saw even more details we didn't see the first time through.
All of the security, ticket takers at each house, and the front entrance main registers were ALL very friendly and personable, but even better were the actors inside each house! They were VERY interactive, each and every one of them, which made this place better than some of your standard haunts where they just pop out and growl at you, or make sounds to startle you.
Only reason it gets 4.5 stars instead of 5: -- VALUE: I think a $25 ticket would be the right price point for what you get when compared to other places. Was it worth $30? It was great but it wasn't mind blowing. -- DURATION: For the time it took to go through vs the cost I would have expected a little more, but we were told they are already looking to expand and do more, so I appreciate that for sure. Even from week to week they have been adding things. -- BATHROOM: a port-a-potty in the parking lot. I get it. But just know that going in. -- ONLINE TICKETS: even if you buy tickets ahead of time you go to the same line as everyone else as you have to exchange the online ticket for a hard ticket that they hole punch. It looks like you would save the processing fee you pay online to just purchase at the door. -- VIP/SKIP THE LINE: don't buy this in advance. We didn't have any lines when we went and it would have left a bad taste in my mouth if we had bought it ahead of time.
As a person who travels all over for haunts, you will have a good time, but as someone who had experienced a LOT, it just left me wanting a little more. For the first year though, definitely impressive. We didn't do the axe throwing or midway games, but those would have been a fun little bonus.
I hope this review helps, and I look forward to supporting them...
Read moreI normally go to all the haunts the area has to offer every year. I could not believe that 7 gates was something i didnt know about. It was really nice to go to something more then frightworld or everhaunt. Dont get me wrong those places are both amazing but 7 gates holds its weight and is only going to get better years to come. The staff were friendly and the vendors were great too. Some neat things to see and experience if you want to take a break in between the houses. I highly recommend grabbing a slice of pizza. The ladies behind the counter told me that its made right there. It was really good.
The prices were very reasonable for all it has to offer. 1 of the houses really struggles . Just kind of a walk through the Dark. But the start of it has so much promise and really gets you going. Im sure that this is something they will no doubt fix. As for the other 3 houses... all as i can say is they were fun. Im hard to scare but the actors mostly young are so fantastic and the heart and sole of the whole park. I was in tears laughing at some of the creative lines and just how hard they worked made it 100 percent worth a 2.5 hour drive. This place is only going to get better and better.
My only negative was the restroom situation. I totally understand why the porta johns are what they went with. But with only two of them and thousands of people using them during the haunt season. You could only imagine the Horrors you are greeted too when you open the doors . Its unreal terrible and honestly could technically be a 5th house of horror if they wanted to add that to the haunt. It looks and smells as the stuff from nightmares!!!
I say way too go 7 gates !! You guys rocked this year and im very looking forward to the bright future...
