My family loves this place but like most places that are open require mask. You must schedule an appointment even with a membership and with this we ( my wife and I ) were under the impression that this was a place for family's. Sign out front that states employee's are wearing mask and that you ask everyone to do the same. Well the employees outside are not the mask are on there chins, even when you approach. People walk through the entrance/office wearing a mask but as soon as they get outside they take them off. As I understand while you are alone outside this is ok but no one cared as the came into contact with anyone else. Multiple groups not taking precautions. There was also a group taking photos , taking the whole walking area. At one point we ( my family 3 kids my self and wife ) needed through there group because they were blocking the entire walking path taking pictures and none of them were wearing mask nor had mask visible. No one acknowledged our presence we had to ask them to move , didn't care. Then had to demand they move. Even without the current covid situation this is unacceptable. Also same group of adults wear climbing on the water falls to get/take different pictures. You should not only be requiring mask but also enforcing them as well. It doesn't cause breathing issues , it is all in your head. The only thing it makes harder is it makes your face sweat a little more that it normally would. It's not even inconvenient, no different than a hat or your glasses. Your mask are meant to protect those around you not you. So everyone freaking just wear one so everyone else is covered. If you have trouble breathing its not the mask it's an issue you had way before any of this. Bottom line get over yourself wear a damn mask, businesses enforce policy other wise nothing is...
Read moreSo yes it was hot as hell, but this is Oklahoma. Nextly I am a plant lady this review will be long winded * fair warning*. I visited the botanical gardens when it was first opened- firstly I tend support these types of refuges for wild life and plant lovers. Every community needs them, to help create nature loving children and adults alike. That being said the first visit was pretty sparce as far as man made... but still the vision was there. Needless to say I was thrilled, with the little trail offering, many native flora and fona could be found, persimmons, berryvines, violets, birch, and oak trees alike. A water feature flowing into a small pond, and beautiful visitors center, they have maps, a vending machine- did I mention it was hot here in Oklahoma? Hydrate hydrate hydrate, and exceptionally nice staff. On the second visit I was so excited to see the new developments, the childrens garden that was just a drawing on the wall in its infancy was complete. The sensory garden was a dream lambs ear for a fuzzy feel, passion flowers for a sweet smell, reeds and leaves rustling for a soothing sound. Moving to the water channel feature that leads to the pond, was lined with so many great choices for Oklahoma, knock out Rose's, cannas, climbing vines, echinacea, oh my but the star that stole my heart was a giant agave a must see! I could go on and on as a nature lover. Please support Tulsa's Botanic Garden, you wont regret it, its growing by leaps and bounds...also if you cant take the heat bring an umbrella or visit, this...
Read moreIf you’re thinking of taking any pictures in the park they charge $50 on top of the general admission and Rita is very rude. I’m a former member of the botanical garden and I have had great experiences in times past. Today I had a horrible experience on a very important day for me. Me and fiancé decided to take a few photos because he proposed recently. I called ahead of time to see if the weather affected the business hours and spoke with Rita and she informed me that it would be $50 to take pictures in the park with our iPhones or a professional camera. I’ve taken so many pictures after general admission in times past that I was completely taken back by this. After learning of the fee I decided to bring a warmer outfit because it was cold and the garden closed at 5pm and didn’t have time to change. I made it there by 3:15pm paid general admission $10 per person and the $50 fee for taking pictures. Sharon who checked me out said I could use the restroom to make a small dress change and Rita abruptly stopped her mid sentence and said we could not use the restroom to change our clothes. After taking a few photos we went to our car to change clothes and finish the pictures. I was disappointed in the customer service, nothing was blooming in the park to charge an extra fee at the end of the day, and there’s no perks to the customer for paying the $50. I use to love this garden...
