By far the best golf course in the area, not even close. People whining about price and dress code are probably used to playing at shobby courses with tee boxes that look like the surface of Mars while wearing a tank top and jeans and dragging cigarettes and throwing them in the fairways. This place has a higher standard, and the price reflects that. Their greens are consistent, fairways are in good shape, the rough is playable, and the holes have hazards that make the game fun, rather than annoying. You can actually play out of the bunkers on a dry day, which you can’t do really at any other course around here.
Which really, it’s not that much more expensive than the other courses around here - I’d gladly spend an extra 15 bucks on an 18 hole course that looks like it’s been maintained in the 21st century. On the most busy days, after taxes I’ve never spent more than 55 dollars, Bel Air (9 hole course) costs 35, the trace is about 45. Which considering they have a good range, tee times, cart beverage service, and GPS carts, I’m more than happy to spend a little more to actually enjoy golf.
Very seldom am I waiting behind a group that impedes my ability to play 18 in a reasonable time. Cant get that anywhere else...

Forward (red) tees are mostly on fairway rough instead of on a dedicated tee box. Course is fairly open with water along the edge of every hole with sand bunkers near greens. The greens are elevated but flat and fast and in good condition. The course was in good condition with exception of the sand bunkers which needed grooming due to a recent heavy rain. Cart paths are a good distance from tee boxes and greens compared to other courses we have played. For a person with knee issues, it is a lot of up and down walking. Friendly staff and good value at $20 for 18...
Read moreNew to Tupelo National since the new owners and a long time golfer. Today was the first time I’ve had a neat and clean appearance and been denied access to the driving range at a public access course over solid pocket shirt with no collar. Played golf in 6 states from MS to SC. We have all even watched pros practice on driving ranges at much nicer courses than here in nice shirts without a collar. The man behind me was just as baffled when the lady denied him a bucket of balls as well for wearing an under armor dri fit. We both went to Natchez Trace where they allow you to practice comfortably.
Collar on the driving range required at a public access course that you have to pay to use the...
