The only reason I am giving this rating at this time is because this was a check it out visit. The facility overall seems very nice. All of the RV and trailer sites are paved however several are not level and require extra measures for leveling your camper. Most of the sites have water, sewage, and electric hookups. There are also site available for tent camper as well. There are 2 convenient bath houses and even a laundry facility available. Also there are group picnic facilities, a large swimming pool, outdoor playground, and access to the Nolichukey River. The downside is that there is no marked signage from Hwy. 11 E indicating the way into the park, this might be considered a plus as the park is remote and very quiet. Just made for a restful getaway. We will definitely let you know more after we visit in the next month.

Well since my first review of this campground we have visited here several times. We like the fact that this campground is within easy driving time of our home in Western North Carolina. We stay here in late fall because of its proximity to Johnson City where we have regular eye examinations. I don't like driving with my eyes dilated so this is convenient. My wife enjoys walking the trails and I enjoy the tranquility of the river and the Canadian Geese. We've met some interesting people and enjoyed their company. We will definitely come back here for mini vacations. Peace and...

First time camping here and first time here in TN since our recent move from Florida. We've camped from the finest resorts to just your average parks. This one chalks up to average. Great fishing and hiking and history. People and kids we're just too much. We had some of the rudest people around us. No matter what we did they never spoke and would stare at you with evil eyes as they sat there with religious scriptures all over their trailer. Kids were out of control. Cutting through the campsites with no respect. To top it off...we sat there and watched a lady break limbs off of trees to put in fire pit. Seriously!? In Florida that was against the law....first time in SP with a pool and we were excited about that too. It was closed all weekend. Don't get me wrong....we are christians. My husband and I read our devotions outside...we didn't care who saw us or what they thought and we played cards. Just normal folks but friendly. Love kids too. We had 6, and 5 grandkids but we we're just not impressed with the...

I'm related to Davy Crockett through his paternal uncle on his second marriage. My mom and I were on our way out from Tennessee to go visit friend in the Carolinas and stopped here. It was a beautiful opening of land and you can see some of the history, however I am a little disappointed how there's a little lack of historical document and maps to explained that outskirts of the park. Don't get me wrong, there is a visiting center little gift shop. Historical build up and and reading post is very helpful although I do have a question about a little gravesite the happens to be right in the park. Small burial sites with two crosses and dates on them but no names. I don't know who they are and by the looks of these graves they look like they were children. If anyone has any information about that that would be great. The horses and their pain was very friendly and and the water source is really cool. For those who want to stay overnight or for a visit it turns out you can actually camp there with your 5th wheels and...

A lovely place to spend an afternoon. Not to be confused with David Crockett State Park, which is in Lawrenceburg, TN. This park has a campground, pool, picnic areas, visitor center, a historical display of the Crockett cabin and farm, a boat ramp, and hiking trails. The trails, one of which takes you on a beautiful stroll along Limestone Creek, are easy. I'm not sure about whether the pool is open, because we didn't check that. There are public restrooms with flush toilets just before the boat ramp. At this time they are posted as "Use At Your Own Risk," as they are not holding to a firm cleaning/sanitizing schedule. This park was of interest to us due to my hubby's ancestral link to Davy Crockett. The information boards that present the history of Davy Crockett were very interesting. A great place to bring kids, get some fresh air and exercise while hiking, and to brush up on some history before it is forgotten.
