The breakwater is an adventure in itself. From the first time I walked on it as a kid after it was finished being built to now, it is always an experience. As a kid I was fearless, and sat out at the end of it where it slants back into the lake. Now, the movement of the water is dizzying, and I hang on to the rail the whole way out. It is a good way to experience the powerful potential of this great lake, as only a slight wind out of the east will send waves crashing against and over the breakwater. You can imagine the fury of a gale blowing the water in. Don't miss this opportunity if you're heading up the lake.

It was cold, windy, and rainy so we didn't do a whole lot of exploring but still pretty cool to see! Nice spots for pictures and being about to walk far out gives you a better experience of the ocean away from the shore. The windier conditions, the more aggressive waves crashing into the rocks and concrete, just sitting and listening to all these things was fantastic.

Been coming here since before I can remember. Gorgeous. I love walking the breaker wall and listening to to waves crash against the rocks. The Rocky shoreline is as familiar as an old friend and always welcoming. Plan on staying here for a couple hours and take everything in. Be sure to take photos but be sure to put the phone away so you can enjoy a piece of heaven.

I took my wife here for here 30th birthday. She and I stayed in the Skiff House. Which was wonderful with its own private bathroom and Jacuzzi tub. Her birthday is in the beginning March so we didn't get to walk the properly and grounds as much as she would have liked but she still loved it! Melissa, the bed and breakfast manager, was also great and made us a delicious breakfast! The only thing I would change is the brick like bed we had...but this was NOT something that would prevent us from going back. Plus since its been about 5 years now since I bought my sleep number bed. I always have a hard time sleeping at hotels and when we're on the road. Again though...Even considering it was just one night there. We had a wonderful time and we would definitely...

The breakwater was fun to walk out on - it was a little more exciting because it was windy! Then the walk along the shore in front of the lighthouse had amazing views. The gift shop was packed with the cutest things - I could have spent a fortune in there. We didn't have time to take the tours but they looked interesting and no big crushing groups of people - totally at your own pace. We happened to check it out on a whim and I'm so glad we did. The shop keeper was fun & knowledgeable - total peach! We'll go back next time we take a...
