For those of you who have never been (like me), here's the scoop: Plenty of free parking, practically in front of the building. We were partying and didn't want to take a chance driving (so we took Uber) but - in hindsight - we could've driven and everything would've been fine. One of the nice things was that the main venue was dark, so traffic was practically non-existent. Relatively small venue (300 orchestra, 100 balcony). Practically every seat is good (the balcony has a couple of columns, so beware). Even the back row in the balcony is relatively close. We sat in the first row balcony because we didn't want anyone in front of us. But the last row would've been fine, too, and we could've stood all night (I prefer standing to sitting) without blocking anyone else's view. No reason to get there early unless you're planning on drinking or eating. I mean, with only 400 seats, it's not like it's going to take a long time to enter the venue. We got there a half-hour early (because we didn't know "the scene") and we just stood around until the show began (Bandhouse Gigs tribute to XTC). We didn't eat or drink but it looked like standard bar/pub fare (self-service/walk-up to the counter). Seemed like there were...
Read moreI went here to attend a dinner party that my employer was hosting, and had a great time.
The Barns at Wolf Trap seems like a great place {in general) to host parties. There is a bar and cocktail lounge area, as well as a large performance area (with stage, stage lighting, and balcony) that can be easily converted into a dining room and dance hall.
The food for our event was catered. And, I do not know if The Barns at Wolf Trap can provide food for events.
In my best estimation, the Barns could accommodate up to approximately 150 for dinner and dancing comfortably, and many more for a live performance, if you include the balcony seating and breakdown of the dinner tables we had setup.
We enjoyed a DJ positioned on the stage. The room acoustics were actually quite good (from what I could tell from the DJ's limited setup). I do not know what equipment The Barns will or can provide for other performances.
Overall the accommodations were great, with a rustic, yet chic feel. I will definitely keep it in mind for any future events I would...
Read morePerfect venue. All seats are good because the room is just big enough, not too big. Sound is great. The Barns at Wolftrap has the feel of a secluded cabin in the woods with a romantic vibe. You can purchase drinks and snacks in the adjoining room and socialize. People are friendly. The place has a homey feel. There is an intermission half way through so you can get more coffee or snacks. Perfect place for first date or any date, since there is time for chatting, and then listening together. The grounds around the venue are wooded. Highly recommend!!!!! PS- good idea to do a test drive to the venue, before the actual date, to be sure you can find it...
