How does this place have such good reviews? It’s a disaster. Cannot stress enough that this place is NOT for kids’ parties. It was so incredibly disorganized from start to finish. Also the AC barely cooled down the place, everyone was sweating. The front desk was telling guests they didn’t know who the birthday girl was (despite me telling them the birthday girl’s name when we arrived and watching her write it down), they gave 3 gel guns for 6 kids to share (and even those kept breaking, and there was no one to help), there was 1 bathroom upstairs for all the kids to clean themselves up with in a dirty sink in the back room after the paint room (which it course had no wipes or paper towels, though an employee did hand them a stained and dirty-looking rag), the bathroom downstairs was clogged, and for the grand finale they forgot to put crucial elements in the escape room LIKE KEYS which made it take way longer than it should have (and was NOT kid-friendly, the kids kept getting yelled at and told not to touch/yank/pull on stuff…. which is kind of the point of an escape room.)
Speaking of yelling…. Our “host” was repeatedly yelling at a group of 10 year olds and telling them to be quiet. In a space that’s supposed to allow them to have fun and be kids. It was to the point that both another employee and one of our guests’ fathers had to take him aside and tell him that screaming at our kids was unacceptable and making everyone uncomfortable.
Oh, and our host also told the kids not to watch the people in the rage room from the viewing window. I’m pretty sure that’s the point of a viewing window.
Clearly hosting children’s’ birthday parties is not the job for you if you can’t handle working with kids without screaming at them repeatedly.
If you don’t want kids to be kids and not have to use 6-inch voices, perhaps don’t let kids have parties there. Or set an age limit on parties. Figure it out.
I’m so incredibly embarrassed that we chose to waste money throwing a child’s birthday party there. The other parents were all pretty horrified about everything, too. I’m sure it would be fun for drunk adults and teenagers, but I can’t stress enough how terrible and horribly organized this place was for a kid’s...
Read morePlease be aware if you cancel early and have a family emergency be aware they are very strict NO REFUNDS!! My fiancé’s grandmother died and obviously we couldn’t go to Kyle to smash and paint things. Not our choice and I called around 9 am to cancel My 6 pm appointment and explained family emergency they asked me do I want to cancel I said yes obviously thinking hey family emergency of course they would refund my 63 dollars that’s not that much I’m sure they got that spot filled and didn’t lose any money that day. He did ask if I wanted to reschedule I said no I wouldn’t be in that area anytime soon due to the circumstances. It would have been amazing if they told me at the time we will not refund you any money supposedly there is a box you have to check that says a week, but honestly I wasn’t paying attention to that box small print and thought obviously there would be exceptions especially when it comes to death of a family member and you call several hours before the appointment time. I’m Sure that slot got filled for that day and it was 63 dollars. Just beware of that little fact they actually won’t try to give you a gift card or reschedule it unless you contact them. They didn’t mention any of that until I requested my refund seems a bit shady so just beware and I wouldn’t schedule until day of and at the location because they are not accommodating or care about your circumstances…..I have messaged this company twice regarding my gift card and they have yet to respond, but have responded on google#shady and don’t do business with them! LIARS I CALLED IN HOURS EFORE AND HAVE PROOF MY APPOINTMENT WAS AT 6 and I called them at 9 am they were not open so I left a message they called me back after 12 and I cancelled they said nothing about a gift card until I called in about my refund!!! They actually filled the spot, because I called in and verified, I understand things are pretty bad after Covid but robbing people and then lying is a bit ridiculous, STANDARDS AND COMMON DECENCY IS SERIOUSLY LACKING!!! I have yet to Hear from This company Regarding my gift card the next step Is the better...
Read moreUpdate [7/8/2021]: I’ll leave the original review for information on the full situation but this update is to reflect that the owner reached out to us and really went above and beyond to try to make the situation right. That, combined with how fun everything is there and how great the staff are, makes this a 5 star experience. No matter how good your business is, no one is perfect every time. The important thing is that they applied excellent customer service and did what they could to rectify the situation.
Original Review: Overall, we had a great time and would still recommend Unchartered Adventures to friends even though I’m only giving it a 3 star rating.
I was completely prepared after we left to give it a 5 star rating because of how much fun we had. But we ran into a bit of an issue with the footage that we paid for.
Their GoPros were broken which was not a big issue because they said that they would share the security footage. Turns out they only share the footage from 1 of the 3 rooms that we were in. That wasn’t clear when I booked it or when they explained about the footage. So I paid $25 for each person even though neither of us had a GoPro and ended up with inferior footage with 1 viewing angle that only captured 1/3 of our experience.
They also said that their editing software was broken and ended up sharing the raw footage, which means that I have to spend time on editing it now. Still a great experience but it did leave a bad taste in my mouth.
Overall, we had a blast! Josh, Zane, and Emily were awesome. We got there a little bit late but they made everything work timewise still. I’ll definitely try it again sometime, maybe minus the...
