I had a wonderful tasting over the weekend with Rakhi at Handley Cellars. All morning I was debating if I should go because I was by myself, it was out of my way before going home, and the rain was coming down.
Let me say, I'm so glad I went. I was by myself, and it was a rainy and foggy day in the Valley. The views were stunning, and I really savored my time tasting the wines and chatting with Rakhi. I loved the variety of wines offered, and got to try two that weren't a part of the tasting menu. I also found the tasting fee of $15 to be really high value. We showed up after tasting hours, without a reservation, with wet dogs on a rainy day, and still got a personalized wine tasting that lasted an hour longer than the posted closing hours. The Ops Manager welcomed us eagerly, taught us about the history of the vineyard, taught us about the wine we were tasting, and made us feel that for a moment, we owned our own vineyard.

I love their Pinot Gris while my husband enjoys the multiple versions of Pinot Noir. There is no fee for tasting - that's right, I said no fee.
