Great spot for the days that Holmdel or Dorbrook Parks seem too big and you just want to bring the kids to a smaller, yet fun, park. The park has nice views of NY and Raritan Bay and walking the bulkhead along the water is a nice way to break up the time there. The comment about lack of shade is spot on. Save for the large gazebo, there's not much in the way of respite from the sun and on days with no breeze, it can be brutal. Satellite and street views in Google Maps are not updated yet as of time of review to reflect amazing work of Army Corps of engineers to build dunes and berms done as part of flood control project. Shoreline looks much different now, so close water views are no longer park’s attraction but that would be more than compensated by new recreational value...
