We have been going here for the past year. My sons are now three and one. Both love going here. My three year old frequently begs to go to the "Kid's Museum" and whenever it is mentioned, the younger one claps. It is smaller compared to other Discovery/Children's Museums in larger cities, but it is great for a town the size of MP. Most of the indoor activities are situated in one big room. This makes supervision easier as the kids and go from station to station without me having to move with them and each kid can be in different areas and I can still keep an eye on them. There is plenty of seating for adults around each area. The areas are well maintained and staff frequently are walking around and reorganizing sections on busy days. The staff are great. My kids, and our kid's friends, all love the staff, who seem to genuinely enjoy being around kids. They recently have repainted and updated some of the areas and it is colorful and well done. The outside area is nice. They various areas with the popular areas being a gravel water play-cooking area and then a sand dinosaur digging pit. I wish they had a cleaning station outside to rinse the kids off to prevent paint and mud being taken inside on the way to the restrooms. The area is only in it's second year, so it might eventually happen. They have lots of plants so it feels a bit like a greenhouse in one of the areas. The infant area is good sized compared to some museums I have been to. Overall, it is a good way to spend a few hours in sunshine or rain. The weekly activities are also fun to go to and they have nightly events occasionally for adults only as well as open-late kids events (such as glow night). We have enjoyed and gotten much use out of...

The museum really is a great place to take your kids, don’t get me wrong. That being said I have to give it 2 stars just based on what I’ve seen and heard how staff is treated and paid. I can’t support a business that doesn’t invest in their best assets and one of the best parts of the museum which is the floor staff. They are paid 11$ an hour! They basically babysit, clean, run the store, check people in , and run classes but are not compensated fairly. Yet the museum is putting in a new exhibit? There is no room for growth either. I’ve noticed now the front desk isn’t as lively as it used to be and staff are only allowed to have one member at the front desk or Be reprimanded. The museum has lost its sense of community and friendship by cracking down on its staff for socializing. Let the kids that work there have some fun! This is not that serious of a job and it pays terrible yet you enforce arbitrary rules on staff? Their job is stressful enough. Imagine sitting at a desk for 9 hours by yourself while children scream around you. They need a social break! They aren’t your puppets to do every task you don’t want to do and sit there quietly or get punished. I’m just really disappointed that a place I really enjoy is not an enjoyable...

I will be completely honest. We have been to a lot of Children's Museums. When pulling up this one looks awful small. Which was a concern because I have three nine year old children. After four hours my kids were begging to stay. honestly one of the cleanest Children's Museum I've ever been. Nothing broken or ran down. The smaller space was actually nice the children didn't feel like they had to be going like a hundred different directions cuz everything was pretty accessible. There was tons of stuff to do. great activities for all ages. Bee area and water table was probably the favorites. My husband and myself were very entertaining the whole time even. The baby area was adorable. Never have I seen such a cute little area with such creative items for little ones. The young man at the front desk (didnt get his name) was so nice and generous. He let my son try the thing he was playing with which then let us to buy in two of them. They are very neat he gave us a lot of helpful tips about the item. (Even tho I cant remember what it's called now) He is definitely amazing at his job. My son has been practicing with it for the last 6 hours. We do not live close to there but if we ever come back that way we will definitely...

Power outages at school meant an extra day of Spring Break! Since the plague descended on our home for all of our actual spring break, I was determined to make the most of this bonus day! The #DiscoveryMuseum of #mtpleasant was the only children’s museum we could find with Monday hours and my girls just loved it! I feel like this definitely caters to a younger crowd (8 and under, maybe? And 8 is a definite maybe), so prepare for that. There were older kids there when we visited who weren’t really following the rules and just generally making things unsafe for the smaller patrons (some big kids stacked furniture to barricade themselves inside a fort and refused to let other kids inside. I mentioned it to the front desk, because the chairs almost toppled on my daughter, and they didn’t do anything to fix it. So, that was disappointing and altogether unsafe, but I digress.) Lots of fun things to see and do and I had to drag my kids out of there after 3.5 hours. $10 admission for everyone 1+. Military discounts available.

If you're considering a visit to this children's museum, I would recommend thinking twice. While it may seem like a fun and interactive space for kids, our recent experiences have raised concerns about cleanliness and safety. During our last visit, my wife, son, and I all got sick, each with a different illness. Unfortunately, our son has gotten sick after visiting this museum multiple times. What's particularly concerning is the water feature in the kids' play area, which needs to be tested regularly and has been known to have issues with high levels of E. coli. This raises serious questions about the sanitation of the space. While the activities are engaging, the recurring illnesses we’ve experienced make us hesitant to return. For the sake of your family’s health, I’d recommend being cautious before visiting.

August 2021 - what a wonderful place to visit with your kids and if you love science. They have a small climbing area thats in shape of a bee nest. They have a little climbing area if you want to be like an ant. They have several other areas. My children (3 daughters under 10) loved this so much we had to pull two of them away. We will have to come back here and find some other locations in the area. The 2 pictures are just some of the things they have. I had kids in other pictures and didn't want to post them. Great place and one I suggest you visit. I believe it was $8 per person, and I dont think they have an age limit.
