Morey Courts Recreation Center — Local services in Union Charter Township

This place is disgusting. I don't understand how it has so many good reviews. I was a member there last year and stopped going because of the poor condition of the equipment and facilities. The womens locker room/bathroom smells terrible all the time cause there is no ventilation. There is a single shower stall and at the time I was there it had no light and no privacy curtain. The fountains are usually broken. The bathrooms are falling apart. The staff is hit or miss with politeness. There was one staff member who displayed clear ageism and never had a smile or kind word when I walked in happy and eager to work out. And the groups classes are hit and miss as well. The step class was overly complicated and the instructor wasn't any good at teaching how to get through the insane combinations. The exercise equipment is old and crusty. It's just a sad,...

Horrible layout. The bathrooms and food court are located near the entrance, so if you're at the court on the other side of the building and need to use the restroom good luck. The walkways are very small making things congested. All of the courts are located in close proximity which makes for a confusing game with many whistles being blown during tournaments. I have seen many people get injured (balls getting thrown across the court and missing target) the end of the courts are located next to the bathrooms where people sit waiting for their game.

A simple way to solve all of the problems would be to build a small building in the center of the structure with the courts surrounding it so everyone is equally close to the bathrooms and rest areas.

The gym is neat. I don't like that you can't get any ice skate time with a membership. Also, please stop making patrons clean your equipment for you. You have a person who just stands at the desk all day. It would seem it's their job to clean. I realize during the pandemic this seemed optimal, but really, it's an insult to your patrons. Hire another person to clean or give us a discount for doing the work for you. 🤷 You need more options for people who have to bring their kids when they work out. Not all of us are...
