Me and my class of 3rd graders visited the park on a field trip. The class got to learn about the importance of keeping our waterways clean. The staff used a number of different ways to teach us how to keep the water clean. The class liked the Enviroscape that showed them how pollution gets into the watershed and how we can help keep our environment safe.
We also got to visit the creek and check the quality of the water by catching critters. Even though some in the class were a bit nervous about the critters they got to enjoy everything the creek had to offer. It was so much fun getting into the creek and catching critters. The staff was very knowledgeable and put on a great presentation for the students.
We highly recommend this as a trip for any class learning about pollution and the waterways. We had a wonderful experience and many students asked to go back with their own families. If you go don’t forget to bring some dry shoes for after...
Read moreMy first time here. This park is beautiful, huge and has so much for everyone. Great for family outings, picnics, playground, walking, running, hiking, biking, fishing, disc golf….or laying on a blanket and looking at the sky. The Perkiomen Trail runs through here too. I walked a trail around the lake. The path was more extensive than I thought. Half way around, at a parking lot, you cross the road (yellow markers indicate where to cross) walk up to the raised road, continue until you reach the other side of road and yellow markers. Cross here and you’ll eventually reach parking lot (about 3mi walk). FYI, on this walk you’ll pass entry to ORANGE Trail which is hilly and has some tree root on path. Great looking...
Read moreI've been going here for years now and have always enjoyed going. The playgrounds were a lot of fun when I was a kid, and always kept nice and up to date. The park itself is very clean, I've never seen a lot of litter anywhere. I wish they would clear the resavoir of the algae, but I don't know how much control they have of that. I stopped going for a few years but then started going again for the tennis courts and for Pokemon go. The courts are usually shaded during the day which is really nice, but the leaves and other debree usually clutter the courts, but not too bad. There is also a decent amount of stops for Pokemon go which is nice. I recommend going sometime, there is plenty more to do than what I...
