Nice wines, but cold and unwelcoming service ruined the visit.
I visited Cream Ridge Winery for the first time today for a small farewell sendoff with a friend. He arrived early and had a bottle and glasses waiting when I got there around 4 PM. I’ve had many warm, welcoming experiences at wineries before, so I was excited to finally try this one.
At 4:34 PM, I went to the counter hoping to try a different wine by the glass. I was told last call was at 4:30 and no more glasses could be served. I politely asked if there had been an announcement, since I hadn’t heard one. The staff admitted they don’t give a last call notice —yet still firmly refused to make an exception, despite it only being 4 minutes past and this being my first visit.
Instead, I was encouraged to buy a full bottle without tasting it. Only after some back and forth did another woman allow me to taste two wines—but the pours were barely half a sip, and the original staff member turned away mid-conversation, visibly annoyed. It felt like a chore for them to accommodate basic tasting etiquette, at a winery, no less. The wine I chose was nice but I did not purchase the particular bottle because of the sales experience.
Despite not giving a last call announcement- One staff member abruptly interrupted our conversation— not with a friendly reminder, but a firm and loud announcement, that we must make our way out. No “thank you,” no “hope you enjoyed your visit.” It felt unnecessarily cold and rushed. Ironically, several families were still outside relaxing, but when we asked to stay for a few minutes, only then did she say we could stay for 10–15 more minutes. At that point, I simply left.
As a customer service and sales manager myself, I’m especially mindful of how guests are treated. My company is currently looking for a venue to host a large private event with a generous budget—at first glance, this location seemed like a potential fit. But based on how unwelcome I felt as a guest, I can’t in good faith recommend it for anything more than a quick bottle pickup. Sadly, the service did not match the quality...

This place has it all, an incredible wine, warm hospitality, and a welcoming, pet-friendly atmosphere that truly sets it apart. I had the pleasure of trying several wines during my visit, and each one was absolutely delicious. The red wine, the passion wine, mango wine, and especially the Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon blend — all were outstanding! I loved them so much I had to take home a bottle of each. You can really taste the love and care they put into their winemaking. The service was top-notch. Everyone was so kind, friendly, and attentive. One moment that touched our hearts deeply: the staff gifted a thoughtful present to my mother-in-law, recognizing that she’s going through a difficult time. That kind of generosity and compassion is rare and speaks volumes about the people behind this winery. If you’re looking for a family- and pet-friendly winery with locally made wines, peaceful surroundings, and an unforgettable vibe, don’t miss Cream Ridge Winery. I can’t wait...
Read moreWe had been meaning to visit this winery for awhile, but the COVID pandemic put a damper on that. So we opted to take our chances and order 2 bottles for curbside pickup.
Their ordering system is phenomenal. You email them your selections, and they send you a digital invoice. When you arrive to pick up your order, you pull up in a designated area (everything is VERY well marked), call them, and they'll bring it out and put it directly in your trunk. Zero contact, and you never have to even roll your windows down. Also, they were very flexible; I changed my pick up time to less than 24 hours to coincide with another business pick up in the area and they were able to accommodate it. Everyone I dealt with was super friendly and nice.
We tried the Jerseyberry and the sangria wine. The Jerseyberry was good, but the sangria was amazing. It tasted exactly like fresh sangria you would get from a restaurant or bar.
We're definitely excited to go back for an in person visit once they reopen and try their...
