The Roost is a very good restaurant on a golf course. There are lots of fresh and tasty options on the menu. I ordered a salad with grilled salmon on top. The greens were crispy and fresh and chopped up to a good size. It came with a huge portion of avocado. Plentiful tomatoes and cucumbers too. And on the side was a big scoop of perfectly cooked chopped bacon pieces, adding a great amount of flavor to the dish. The egg in the salad was sliced, which made it annoying to pop the yolk out of (I'd rather have the hard boiled egg just be cut in half for easier scooping). The ranch dressing was really tasty too. Service was good. Our order was taken quickly and the food and water were brought out in a good amount of time. However I don't feel we were checked on enough, and we could have used refills on our drinks more often than we got them. The atmosphere was the problem for us overall. The positives included good music playing, plenty of TV's with sports (although too many were on the golf channel when there wasn't any golf tournament going on), and a very open floor plan with a great view through all the windows. One downside we felt (and also heard from a few patrons when they walked in) was that it was quite cold inside. Granted, it was in the 90s outside and it was a nice respite from the heat, but the thermostat was turned down a bit too much. The biggest atmospheric downside: the flies. As soon as our food arrived, we were visited by 4 or 5 flies who just wouldn't leave us alone. There was just no way to get them to go away until our food was finished and cleared. And even before then, one fly ended up landing in my salad and getting stuck in the dressing, which was gross, but at least we could eliminate that one from flying all over us at our table. I get it that flies are attracted to food, but they also must be signs of unsanitary conditions in the restaurant somewhere. There's got to be a way to take care of this problem. Overall, the salad choices at The Roost are wonderful. There were no complaints about the taste or freshness of the food we both ordered at the table. My dining partner especially liked the sweet potato fries. I had one and I agreed! The food alone is enough to make us want to come back to this restaurant, even if you don't golf. But bring a fan or a swatter to keep those flies away from your food!

The atmosphere was a 3/5. The chicken of my burger was raw.

Visited Holland ridge farms then stopped here for a quick bite. Food was delicious and the atmosphere was cozy. Started with appetizers (spinach and artichoke dip and fried goat cheese AMAZING!!!!) which were devoured quickly. I got the French onion soup which was good but I didn't care for the cheese on top. Seemed a little different than other French onions I've had but it was still delicious. My husband got a burger which he finished! My son got a kids burger and it was huge and the price was great. My daughter got a salad, it was huge for a side salad and again the price, phenomenal! Would recommend this restaurant to others.

Never have I had a kids grilled cheese come out with black cheese then the following week after waiting 45 mins for a kid's grilled cheese after people that came in 20 minutes after me were served I asked if te order was put in. Approximately 5 minutes later, the kids grilled cheese comes out and I looked at it because the cheese was white this time and it had something brown in it and as I'm looking closer I see it has tomato seeds all inside so they made an adult grilled cheese with tomato and bacon then when they went to serve it and realized it was supposed to be a kids they pulled it apart and took the tomato and bacon out then slapped it back together. I cant have tomatoes because of diverticulitis which is why I order the kid's because it doesn't have it on it. I don't know how any place can do that and pull someone's food apart. Absolutely disgusted after that, didn't eat, left without eating after being there over an hour.

Also, the boneless Chicken changed in 2 weeks from tenders to chunks to uniform balls that are chewy. The honey mustard changed in a week to some weird flavor of mayo and Dijon mustard like someone tried to make...

Went on Thursday with a large group for lunch. After our party was done eating, I and another ordered food for takeout. Our orders were switched upon receiving them. Accidents happen, I understand. I called to ask for a refund, since what I paid for cost double than what I received. I spoke with a young woman, who said she’d let the manager know, and I would receive a call back. A couple hours later, the assistant manager called to let me know the manager would call me the next day. The weekend went by, and I received no call. I just called today (Monday) and the man who answered said he’d let the manager know that I called. Not feeling hopeful, since he didn’t confirm my name or phone number. Spent $25 on a burger that day, to only receive nachos. (Valued around $15 I believe) Just a bummer, thought my issue would be handled for how nice of a...
