There are two playground options in one area, 1 big kid swing set, 3 toddler swing sets, 1 parent/child swing, and climbing structures. Right by the playground, there are fishing areas, a soccer field, and an open field by what used to be maybe a hatchery. Plenty of walking space, I see plenty of people walking their dogs in the area. Looks to be in the process of cleaning up (high waters and erosion took some of the pavilions, and for that, the pool is currently closed since it's being used as a holding ground for concrete blocks from construction). There's a development being constructed close by, so hopefully new home owners means more kids to enjoy the park I visited throughout my childhood and now my children's lives. Typically busy after school hours, but during the day, it's pretty quiet, other than the occasional fisherman. Great place for family photos or a...

Popped into this park we frequently brought our children to years ago. It's sad to see it so neglected. The hatchery ponds are a mess. The playgrounds are thankfully in decent shape, and the pavillions are still suitable to 'rent' for picnics and parties. Parents beware: Young kids unwatched will face some dangers near water. Be warned. MY HIGHLIGHT this visit was parking at the east end and observing (from afar) the nearby Saucon Creek BALD EAGLES Nest! I saw both parents: Dad swooping in making a delivery and then Mom feeding hatchling(s) we cannot see in the deep nest pocket. This nest sits atop an old railroad tower. It is also visible from Route 412 at the new Industrial Park traffic light. This is the 4th year seeing...

Beautiful park with lots of fun play equipment! Lots of shade, we'll kept grass and creekside. Pavillions are super sturdy and old school stone. It rained for a bit but we stayed nice and dry underneath it. Tables are concrete tops with wooden benches all cemented into place (they can't be moved). Seats were spacious and plentiful. Was a bit tricky to get to the Pavillions as GPS was not accurate. If coming off 78, cross over street and follow the signage to the right. You'll follow the creek and see the pavillions/playground to the right. Keep going and then make a right on the bridge to go over the creek. Large parking lot with...

Saucon Park must have at one time been one of the prettiest places. It is still beautiful, but seems to get rather abused by its guests. And the Saucon Creek seems to have.had something happen to it in the last few years. The creek bottom is black from being covered with some kind of weed or slime. It is really sad to see. I don't think it is didymo, but it can't be good. I did get buzzed by a Bald Eagle while I was there, so that is cool. I just wish I could see some rocks and gravel vs. whatever has taken over the stream bottom. Update: It is a few years later and I dont see the same slime in the stream bottom. That is good!

This is the first of Bethlehem's parks, established shortly after the city's consolidation in 1917. It is situated along Saucon Creek (hence its name) and features places for picnics, play equipment for children, playing fields, and opportunities for exercise and walking. The park, with its alignment along a creek, is mostly flat. Parking is available in several locations. In 2016, the city erected park ordinance signs to ensure park users understand the rules and regulations for its equitable use. It may continue to receive increased police visits in 2017.
