This trail all the way to the waterfall is not kid friendly what so ever. At the beginning its all hot loose sand and no shade. About 1/4th of the way up the shade starts. Then about 10 min after shade start the trail becomes very rocky, very narrow and not stable for children or anyone not experienced for rock climbing. Saw a lot of family with little children turning back down about half way because of the unstable, narrow rocky path of the trail. Because oviosly it was to dangerous for children. The trail does have about two nice little sections about half way up to the fall where you can sit and enjoy nature surrounded by trees with the river running by, but that's all. I agree that the trail is moderate but definitely not kid friendly and even not dog friendly during summer months because of the hot sand. The water fall it self is just OK. But NOT the greatest waterfall in Utah at all. This trail/fall is over rated. Not worth the 4.7...

Nice spot and a fairly short walk.

Signage is non existent. I had to keep asking people how to get there until someone knew, and by this stage I had gone too far. At the top of the switchbacks there is a bench (see pics) take the path to the right at this point. From here it's a short 5-10min walk.

As you get very close to the waterfall the path gets very narrow with a decent drop to one side and uneven path. You will also need to climb down rocks right at the end (see pics) This was my favourite bit but some may find it difficult. I would suggest using one of those child carrier strap things (you can tell I don't have kids) for the very littlies not very steady...

Great hike! 20 mins up to lower falls. Giving it 4 stars because there was no signage, if I didn’t have my phone I wouldn’t have known to turn right at the fork for the small falls. It is uphill the entire way there in soft sand, so be prepared for a trek. May be difficult when bringing small children, elderly etc. I brought my 5 year old daughter, she complained a lot but she made it just fine. My 10 year old son loved it. When you get to the falls you do have to do a small, steep rock climb to get down there. It is so worth it though!! Little flat area to sit and...

I love the lower falls! I've never made it all 4 miles to the upper falls, but getting to the lower ones is also a workout (especially with the switchbacks that start at the trailhead). Its not so intuitive to get to, so when you reach the fork at the top of the switchbacks, take the path to the right that goes slightly downhill. The winter snow and ice made it impossible to get down to the water, but it's an easy climb any other season.
