1500 Echo Dam Rd, Coalville, UT 84017 We used this address to get to a nice sandy beach area. I mistakenly Googled echo state beach park and it took me way past the Coalville area I wanted! Just fyi, take exit 162 to get here. Parking gets full pretty quickly on a Sunday morning...we arrived around 1130 and we were the last car to fit in the parking area. There was a bit of a long walk to get to the pretty sandy beach but we didnt mind...we brought a wagon and 2 men had to carry it during the sleep down slopes. No boats allowed so it's nice and quiet with just paddle boarders and people canoeing. There were lots of cottonwood trees that provided shade for us!
No restrooms or running water were in the area we were at, so you have to hide behind trees and do your thang. Broken glass was scattered all over the beach so that was hard to deal with as our kids walked barefoot everywhere. We picked up and threw tons of it away but make sure to wear water shoes or sandals for protection. We loved this lake and will be...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe made reservations for 2 sites for 3 nights, on our way up there the other party we were camping with called and said "people were in our site and had no intention on leaving and no one was making them pack up." Check out is 2. We were there at 3 and they hadn't started packing. I don't feel it's my responsibility to tell people they need to leave but I did make reservations. Needless to say we finally got in our site at about 6. The only time we saw the camp host was when he asked if we payed for our fire pit.The bathroom didn't get cleaned the whole weekend and one toilet overflowed. YUCK! There is no quite time. No security. The store was closed in the middle of the day and closes for the night at 7 pm so people come in for the night and leave early in the morning. I'd rather pay extra for clean bathrooms and a sense of security. But the beach(minus the broken beer bottles) and the view were nice. P.S.we picked up...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreHad a great time for our first time here! We initially booked the only camping spot available where the full hook ups are and that was not the move. Weāre ok with concrete camping but not like how the full hook up spots were. The way they are set up is crazy, the spot next to you basically has their table right in your camp and your spots table feels like itās in the camp next to yours. And then you have those ācottagesā that seem out of place. Not worth the $60 basically. Luckily DNR and the camp hosts at the other camp site were super nice and let us double up our camper with a friend who was staying over there and we enjoyed our second night!...
