HAUNTED FOREST- Much better than Fear Factory! The price is $25 per person which should be per couple. What I appreciated most about this place is how many robotic monsters they invest in. KEEP GOING! They also had projector ghosts in the forest which was way creepy! It would be nice if they did more projector ghosts in the windows of the buildings throughout. The line waiting area is themed nicely and they actually play Halloween music with monsters that dance and sing along which was way fun. The forest -walk through makes it authentic and fun. The first half of the walk through was pretty great but the last half was mostly wasted space. A lot of walking with themed scenes spaced way too far apart from each other. A big mistake I saw was their lighting color selections. The little lanterns with the bright blue-ish white lights and any other bright yellow, blue, red, lights need to be a dim orange warm glow giving the place that old feeling kind of like the Pirates of the Caribbean ride. The themes of each section were scattered pretty bad too. For example there is a Mayan themed entrance with cool jungle music playing and you get all excited and walk through into a stretch of nothing but plain forest, next thing you come up to is a Christmas house? Where were the mummies or ruins or something Mayan creepy??? The actors had good costumes but with technology today no one should be trying to scare with their regular human voices. Invest in electronic voice changers. The part where you cross the bridge over the little river was completely wasted. No swamp monsters or little shore line cabin or anything to use the water area which could have been great. I would say they need to organize the walk through into actual themes and stick with them for a while kind of like how nightmare on 13th has 4 main themes you walk through. I liked the volcano that was cool but nothing was going on around it. It could have had fake bodies floating in the water or a lava monster robot doing something but again that area was wasted. Finally they need to set up hidden speakers through the entire walk through playing scary Halloween forest sounds like wind blowing and wolves howling and screams and monster noises in the distance. I liked how long this place took to walk through about 50 min after the line. This place has the potential to easily be the best but it’s just not full enough, bad lighting choices, scattered themes, needs more audio and visual effects. An easy upgrade they could do with some of the wasted space is convert an area into a realistic grave yard with tomb stones, semi open graves and have robots and projector ghosts appear as you walk thorough. Final grade is a B+ at best and the price is again too high. It should be $25 per couple...
Read moreOne of the best haunts I've been too in quite some time!!!! Totally right up my alley. They did a great job of suspense, having each section tell its own story, and the actors were excellent! The witches got us really good. The dugouts/dens were especially creepy and sparked something really primal. One felt like it was copy and pasted out of the game Limbo which was super unique and interesting. As with everything like this, I wish the experience was longer but I didn't feel short changed like I have at other experiences. I'm an audio nut and while I always appreciate a haunt that doesnt relentless bang on metal and throw sirens/train horns at you the entire time cause i value my ears and hearing, thank you very much, one of my favorite things here was actually the use of silence and ambience. Between two sections there was a small pathway with subtle cries/whimpering coming from many different directions in the woods and that made my ears perk up big time. It was SUCH a cool effect and so unique! Here's my feedback, some of the big animatronics were SUPER cool but, there wasn't very much attempt at covering the rigging making them function. Seeing Iron bars working behind a giant snake head instantly took me out of that moment, as just one example. I'm guessing there isn't cloth or other things covering them because it could snag or for ease of access but if there was a good solution, you could probably get a lot more mileage out of those scares, which im sure cost quite a but. The other note is that the mine was a big let down. Such a cool idea and it was terrifying walking in but there was no... story? Suspense? Even an actor down there would have made a huge difference or some subtle noises/voices. My final note is not really a critique but more personal insight. I haven't been actually fearful at a haunted house for years but I almost was at the graveyard. If there had been a small (4-5) group of zombie actors who rose up and chased us, oh man. I was so worried that was gonna happen and the animatronics were so spooky but I legit would have been terrified! Thanks for an amazing haunt! So fun and worth...

Wasn't too impressed. While they kind of make use of the atmosphere walking through a forest alone at night naturally engenders, they don't fully take advantage of it. In fact they rely too heavily on this and skimp out on the scenes and actual scares. Being an outdoor attraction, there are thousands of things they can take advantage of and do that other houses can't. The potential Haunted Forest has is amazing but it's not living up to it at all (let alone the hype I heard.) At first, walking through the dark forest was unnerving but unfortunately I got used to it. It wasn't a constant source of anxiety anymore but rather became an impairment that didn't add to the fright. The relentless darkness hindered most of the scares because I couldn't really see what was going on; any thoughtful details were completely lost on us. Speaking of which, each scene was quite short and there was little to no cohesiveness to them.
I'll give them props for bringing different scares than the traditional asylum, vampire lair, slaughterhouse, child's room, etc etc themes that are the usual at other places but the ones they did come up with needed a lot of work. This haunted house relied heavily on animatronics that while impressive at times, held little character and so didn't spark any fear in us whatsoever. I can count on one hand how many times my group of four screamed. Most of them were because a machine took us by surprise. The acting was also alright, no genuinely unnerving moments here. For the money and the drive, it really isn't worth it, especially because of how short it is (if you're paying with a card be ready to throw down extra money for fees.) If the space was used for all it can give, less money for machines and more to character and scene development, then maybe we could talk about us...
