Wonderful short hike to the upper falls. 2 dogs and a 4 year old in tow. It’s secluded enough to feel deep in nature but short enough to complete within 30 minutes. We started from the bridal veil falls, walked on the paved trail towards the the upper falls. There is a building with graffiti on it and that was where we started up the mountain. Not a lot of people were on this trail which was a huge plus, especially with the gazillions of people at bridal veil falls. The hike up is rocky and steep but nothing a 4 year old can’t handle. We took our time. As you walk up you see more and more of the canyon mountain across the road behind you. The waterfall itself is beautiful and feels like a cove. It’s all slanted, rocky and steep so people don’t stay for very long because there’s nowhere to sit. We just sat on the rocks and enjoyed some time alone. It actually got a bit chilly so I had to move from the shade into the sun. There is no where to play in the water like the bridal veil falls, but to me it’s worth having a secluded place to yourself for a...

I actually climbed up to (almost) the top of bridal veil falls instead of going to the upper falls. I just parked in the upper falls parking lot... It was sprinkling and raining a little bit on and off the whole time but the trails weren't too bad, not too slippery, a little muddy though...And if you end up on the ridge we did, just below the top of bridal veil falls, just a warning….almost at the end of the trail, there are 2 or 3 steps only a little wider than my foot so I had to sidestep, hooking my fingers into cracks in the cliff to make sure I didn't fall down the mountain... If you are afraid of heights, do not...
