Recently, my son has been leaving his dog with me when he goes to work. On our daily walks, we've been heading to Dan Foley. A friend also reserved a picnic area there on a Saturday for a memorial gathering, so I've spent a lot of time there in the last month. I've walked all around the park and rediscovered how much beautiful open space it encompasses! GVRD does an amazing job keeping the lawns in good shape, and although it's an uphill battle, they are remarkably successful at keeping the park clean. There are several picnic areas available to reserve, with picnic tables and grills. The Dan Foley Cultural Center also offers reservable indoor space, and a slew of recreational classes are available there through the GVRD. Lake Chabot is lovely this year after all the rain!
