Recently, my son has been leaving his dog with me when he goes to work. On our daily walks, we've been heading to Dan Foley. A friend also reserved a picnic area there on a Saturday for a memorial gathering, so I've spent a lot of time there in the last month. I've walked all around the park and rediscovered how much beautiful open space it encompasses! GVRD does an amazing job keeping the lawns in good shape, and although it's an uphill battle, they are remarkably successful at keeping the park clean. There are several picnic areas available to reserve, with picnic tables and grills. But the only thing that makes the Dan Foley Park less enjoyable is the presence of homeless people with makeshift tents during our visit in December 2024. Perfectly located at North Camino Alto with easy access from Tuolomne Street, close to Summit Ridge Condominiums and Sutter Solano Medical Center in Vallejo, California. Six Flags Discovery Kingdom is just a stone’s throw away! Stunning views of the rolling hills as well. The park has wildlife viewing as well as fishing grounds. Read moreI stopped by there yesterday to do a video to share with our group for our August 20, 2022 gathering there. We have the whole Lower Lake Area reserved. Dan Foley Park grounds are keep up pretty well. However, I’ve noticed the few times I have been there for a gathering in past, and yesterday that the parking lot area above the lake is really let go.!!! In needs to be keep cleaned as well as the grounds.!!! I was very disappointed each time I have seen this unnecessary mess. Please please keep it looking presentable to us who pay good money to gather there.!! I should have taken photos to post here.
