Wardlaw Park — Attraction in Vallejo

The absolutely best dog park as far as landscaping goes is located in Vallejo! Better than any other dog parks within an hour or twos drive. Wardlaw is just a gorgeous park. I almost always end up chit chatting or in conversation with other friendly dog owners. It's not snooty as far as I can tell, people often clean more than their share, no one has gotten upset at barking dog's. It's a very nice place to spend a few minutes or a few hours with your four legged bark buddies. Bring your own sanitizer spray. Bags are biodegradable but dificult to open, one kind lady taught me to rip open a small tear at the top to find/create a separation point. Lots of regulars seem well aquatinted with each other and even if they don't know the humans names, they'll know each other's dogs names. It's ideal for me as I cannot walk them due to physical limitations. I can make it walking from one chair location to another and thereby get in a little extra exercise myself. If you don't have painful limitations that doesn't seem like a big deal but it is a great set up for me and a perfect match for my needs. I used to go there a lot but the last few times I've had bad enough experiences for me to make the decision not to bring my dogs there again.

As with any dog park there are rules. These get broken. My biggest problem is when intact males come in. This causes aggression of that dog and other dogs causing fights. My neutered dog was attacked.

When my friendly, submissive, socialized (SPCA), puppy was attacked that was the last time I ever went there. This huge Malamute/Great Pyranese looking dog attacked him. Where was the owner? As my dog is on his back in a completely submissive posture this big Bear of a dog is biting his private parts (1 part) as he was neutered. My dog is crying in pain and I'm screaming for the owner who finally walked over and stood there not reaching to grab his dog. Finally with me yelling for him to grab his dog he did. Then he walked back to his little group as if nothing happened.
