Decided to check out this beach as first time vacationing in this area. Parking was sufficient. Fairly busy beach to be expected. Porta potties were clean which was nice. They have a washing station and changing rooms. Also has picnic tables. Not a long walk to the beach. Did not care for the sand. Wasn’t hot but different texture. Not many shells in area I was in. Seemed like mostly older people (which doesn’t bother me), and quite honestly some weirdos. Some very odd characters here overall. One group of two on our right kept losing their umbrella. It blew over on another party in which a guy got it for them. They were rude and didn’t even thank him. Then later blew over and hit me in the head which was ok as accidents happen. Also knocked over our son’s (5&2) sandcastles. Upon coming to get their umbrella not even an apology which was rude. Dudes dressed like women which I honestly don’t appreciate, saw more than one. They are free to do as they please but I will never come back to this beach as I don’t care to see that nor want my children to see that. This was probably the only beach I didn’t like in all of Florida I have been so far. Waves are a little more rough and drops down quickly into the ocean. Does have two lifeguard...

This beach is really nice, and so QUIET. That was the first thing I noticed when we got there and started walking out- I’m not sure why, but the beach was just so peaceful, not so loud and bustling like almost every other beach, even when I went on a Saturday, so that was a great change up. There’s lot of volleyball nets, a big rest area right off the beach with a small mini mart, nice restrooms, changing rooms, a picnic area, and rinsing stations. And the cute little Venice Beach downtown is a couple minute drive away, that’s definitely worth the walk while you’re in the area. You can find shark teeth at this beach, but from my experience it was a lot harder to find them here than other beaches known for teeth like Manasota Key, because the Venice sand is a lot darker so they blend in. So if you want to find teeth, I’d recommend going to a different beach or making sure to bring a rake or some sort of strainer to look for them here. Lots of small spiral shells to be found as well if you know how to look for them. Super quaint,...

Free Parking. Changing Rooms. Benches. Public Facilities. Free Live Music, donations accepted. Vending machines for sodas

I am under a Pavillion listening to music. There is local music here every night. Beautiful Volley Ball Courts. Lots of Beautiful, friendly people visit here. Fantastic music, volleyball, drum circles, sun and sand. I have been coming here for 60 years. It is busier now. My family always stopped here. I am so happy to return to the place of my youth. It has grown it is busier, yet it remains As a very special place to visit. I am so happy here. This beach is natural Florida Sand. There is a positive recycling effort going on at this beach. This city has enacted laws to protect the sea turtle population. Many of the best natural beaches are here. Lots of shells to gather. Real pineapple plants grow here. Beautiful bromeliads growing here. A delightful place to visit with children. Foot showers to rinse the sand off. A safe haven to relax and release stress...
