Decided to check out this beach as first time vacationing in this area. Parking was sufficient. Fairly busy beach to be expected. Porta potties were clean which was nice. They have a washing station and changing rooms. Also has picnic tables. Not a long walk to the beach. Did not care for the sand. Wasn’t hot but different texture. Not many shells in area I was in. Seemed like mostly older people (which doesn’t bother me), and quite honestly some weirdos. Some very odd characters here overall. One group of two on our right kept losing their umbrella. It blew over on another party in which a guy got it for them. They were rude and didn’t even thank him. Then later blew over and hit me in the head which was ok as accidents happen. Also knocked over our son’s (5&2) sandcastles. Upon coming to get their umbrella not even an apology which was rude. Dudes dressed like women which I honestly don’t appreciate, saw more than one. They are free to do as they please but I will never come back to this beach as I don’t care to see that nor want my children to see that. This was probably the only beach I didn’t like in all of Florida I have been so far. Waves are a little more rough and drops down quickly into the ocean. Does have two lifeguard...

You can find shark teeth at this beach, but from my experience it was a lot harder to find them here than other beaches known for teeth like Manasota Key, because the Venice sand is a lot darker so they blend in. So if you want to find teeth, I’d recommend going to a different beach or making sure to bring a rake or some sort of strainer to look for them here. Lots of small spiral shells to be found as well if you know how to look for them. Super quaint,...
