Cassell Reservation — Attraction in Vermilion

Mostly shaded and dog friendly trail that is densely wooded. Not many birds and we didn't see one squirrel. Imagine this would be lovely when the leaves start to change color in the fall. The posted map at the trail head and the "updated" QR code from June 2023 give inaccurate distance of 1.13 miles. In actuality, the total distance in and out is close to 3 miles. Kids and I love walking the trails here. We took our dogs last time, they seemed to love it too :) when we first went here (when it first opened) someone left little toys around the park for kids. We loved the idea so we placed some of our own the next time we went. But then all the toys went missing. This was sad because our kids loved finding the hidden toys. But we still enjoy just walking the trail and watching the leaves change or listening...

Overall a good place to walk around if you're already nearby. The trail in it's current state, while fun, is a bit underwhelming. The trail is only about 1.25 miles long and it ends at Sunnyside Rd. There is no loop or alternative way to get back to the trailhead. Overall, I would say I had...
