Went, from recommendations, on Tuesday, August 9, 2022, late morning for breakfast. Very clean, nice menu. Quick enough service. Disappointed, a bit, in the service as I ordered toast as dry rye with butter on the side. Original server brought the plates with the dry rye toast with no butter on the side. I reminded the server of the butter on the side and she brought a small bowl of jams and jellies and set it in the middle of the table. I looked through the bowl and there was no butter in the bowl. Another server came by checking on coffee and I asked that server if I could get butter on the side for my dry toast as I didn't see any in the bowl. Then, in a fairly loud voice she claimed I had to pay extra for the butter on the side. I said that's fine and I would like to have it. The original server brought us a small bowl that look like it had one pat of butter cut into four smaller pieces in the bowl. I use that butter to put on the dry toast and it was hard and tasted poorly. It made me wonder how long it might have been sitting there before they cut it up. I would be rating it five stars for this visit if it was not for the way that this situation was handled. If you didn't have butter on the side for my dry toast why not just tell me up front instead serving me some impromptu butter from the kitchen that tasted poorly. I will most likely give the restaurant...

Saturday morning, 5/8/2021. 'Mary', the, uh, waitress, had my table. Food came out on time, as usual with no problems. Mary poured two cups of coffee, then spent the rest of my time there pretending I didn't exist. (She also said she'd take the check up to the register whenever I was ready, quite a trick considering she never returned). I have rarely seen anyone move so quickly around a dining room while accomplishing so little than what I witnessed today. Another employee arrived around 7AM. She peered into the dining room a few times, but the thought of picking up one of the two coffee pots and wandering around said dining room apparently never crossed her mind. After a 20 minute wait for Mary to do her job, I gave up.

At the register, I asked Mary if she knew of some place in Vermilion where I could get a cup of coffee. She basically didn't understand the question.

As we say in the legal profession, "Nothing further. Your witness".

In summary, do yourself a favor and ask to be seated in Erica's section. If not, don't forget to bring your own coffee. And if Erica is not there, head for the hills!!!

Or, at the very least,...

We were seated at a small table for 2 in a very small and cramped section when there was a large dining area that was mostly open. The tables were about a foot apart and I had to touch people and either put my butt or stomach in their faces to get out of my seat. And we put our coats to the table that was to the left of us because there was so little room for us, and when a new group came in, instead of seating them in the mostly open dining room, the waitress asked us to move our coats so the couple could sit inches away from us. We were then cramped between two parties in silence because we were so close we'd be all up in each other's conversations. We even scooted our table a bit to get a little more room and all the waitresses looked at us crazy. Also food was mid asf but it was cheap so whatever. Not...

This place was busy. It took maybe 20 minutes sitting outside to get seated inside. When I say the food and service was delicious and came quick one we ordered ughh. They had super fast service and were so kind. My mom got buddies and gravy with two eggs on top and I got some kind of omelet. The food was delicious, amazing actually. Our server was super attentive even though the place was crazy busy. I'll be back for sure. It's 2 days later and I'm just now finishing the large omelet I got. Next time I'm getting the 2 biscuit and gravy and 2 egg deal my mom got. Portions are decent and the food quality and service is outstanding even when they are crazy busy. You get more than your money's worth.

The food was alright. My avocado wasn’t very fresh and my son’s pancakes were just… okay. I thought it was a bit overpriced and was immediately put off by the sign on the door before you even walk in the restaurant that states they charge an additional percentage for all credit card transactions, regardless of amount spent. It’s 2023, most people under 50 no longer regularly carry cash. I understand this is a local business, but it is not my obligation as a customer to pay your operational fees. I also wasn’t impressed by having to listen to our waitress talk gossip to another server about other staff through our entire meal. Likely won’t return.

This is your typical family diner. We stopped for breakfast on a Wednesday morning. There was no wait to get a table. I ordered country fried steak and my wife had sausage gravy and biscuits. The food was good, my hash browns were a bit mushy though. I like them crispy. My wife said her biscuits were undercooked but did like the gravy. Service was excellent. Our server was on top of things and coffee refills were frequent. Overall, a nice place to have breakfast.
