How do you review something like this? Once upon a time a thousand or so years ago someone took the time to do the modern day equivalent of art or graffiti. You pick. What's more amazing than the fact they are still here today is that someone had the gumption to actually do this, to put his or her thoughts in "writing" or maybe we should say pictographs.

Read moreCrazy amount of construction going on added a ton of time to getting into the monument. Swelter shelter has very detailed petroglyphs and are well worth the walk/hike. Hike is easy and very short. The only part some may find challenging is the uneven and small/slanted steps at the end. You can still see the petroglyphs without going up but not as well. Read moreA quick and easy little walk across the street on a dirt trail. There are a few steps up some rock stairs, so be careful as they can be slick - no matter wet or dry.
Neat to see some petroglyphs. Sadly, some have graffitied and moved rocks to create cairns, but do your best to remember "Leave No Trace" while visiting.
