This 1.2 mile trail, one-way, can be accessed from either the visitor center or the Quarry Exhibit Hall. When we visited in September it was pretty hot, so we choose to ride the shuttle up the hill to the Quarry Exhibit Hall and then hiked downhill back to the visitor center.
