This sculpture park is pretty cool. Even if you're not into art, or "Art", it's fun to walk around and see them. It's in a field next to a gas station, it really is nothing fancy. The town of Vining (population, roughly 70) is like 25 minutes north of I-94. If you're driving up or down I-94 and you need a break, take a detour and check it out. Then grab lunch at one of the two diners in town. You'll get a nice break, really good food, and see something kinda cool and it will only cost you 60 to 90 minutes of your trip. But check it out. It's very whimsical. You'll ask yourself " Who gets the idea to sculpt a life size elephant out of rusty lawnmower blades?" Don't overthink it, just check it out. Is it worth a nearly 3 hour drive from Minneapolis? Frankly, yes. It's a...

Whimsical humor meets heavy metal creativity in this inspiring roadside attraction. Made of thick steel plates welded together, some of the sculptures almost have a Soviet agitprop feel to them: the stoic, broad-shouldered farmer, the chain and hook, etc. But then as if to lighten the mood, there's the friendly green alien and some silverware dancing together.

In any case, The Nyberg Sculpture Park proved a perfect spot to jump out, stretch our legs and frolic a bit during our long car trip from Fergus Falls to Duluth. Looking at the signs and some of the sculpture (alien, astronaut), it seems someone from the area has a connection to NASA / the...

The Nyberg sculpture park is located on a plot of grass next to a gas station in Vining, MN. There wasn’t much information about the sculptures at the park, but there was a very faded sign explaining the size ratio of the earth, moon and sun for the sculptures. Based on information I found online and one of the signs, it seems the park is dedicated to local astronaut Karen Nyberg. There is another sculpture on the other side of the gas station of a cup pouring coffee. The sculptures are cool and well...

It's must visit place in , don't miss it. You need a quick stop to visit this cute little park along with some awesome sculpture, the watermelon was my favorite one. There was also a vintage cars fair going on when we visited , totally worth it. And we also find a watermelon party near by. Good day to visit there.
