I just happened to see this on my way to a museum, so I went back and stopped. Interesting history about the Vietnam War. I had to google it to really learn what it was all about. It would be good if there was at least one more sign that explained the history better.

Very clean park. It needs some repair, but overall nice spot to stop and remember the fallen. You also get a up close view of jets taking off and landing. Cool experience.

Very clean park. It needs some repair, but overall nice spot to stop and remember the fallen. You also get a up close view of jets taking off and landing. Cool experience.

It’s a beautiful memorial. Being local to Virginia Beach, I’ve passed this memorial almost daily most of my life. It wasn’t until 2020 I actually stopped to see what the memorial was all about and pay my respects to great men I’ve known that didn’t make it home. The memorial park is nice and peaceful, though the pathway is cracked and worn. The NAS Oceana airfield right there so there is always a chance you’ll see jets flying right overhead. I hear they put in a new flagpole, which is cool. Old Glory...

The Flame IS NOT ACTIVE AT THIS TIME!!!! The sign says the Monument is undergoing repairs but there ISN'T ANY EVIDENCE OF ANY REPAIRS GOING ON ANYWHERE WHATSOEVER. The sign also says that the Flame of Hope has been temporarily moved to the Chapel of the Good Shepherd on the NAS, THAT IS NOT OPEN TO THE PUBLIC but the sign does not inform the public of that!!!!!!!!! Waste of time and effort!!!!!...
