Quite a nice little place to visit. Making reservations ahead of time can guarantee you a specific spot on the property. They were also very flexible in that we wanted to sit in the sun since it was chilly and they allowed us to move our spot. The wines were poured into cups which you could then pour into the glass that you get when you make a reservation. While we were not fans of the reds, we left with three bottles of the whites. Dog friendly for little dogs on leash. Nice place to sit and hang out for a little bit if you're on a wine tour of the area.

Don't be confused by the homey appearance park in the grass and come on it! Small peaceful winery with delicious wine. You may taste inside or outside. They have seating available on the porch outside or under the shade of a big beautiful tree. They do have cheese, crackers, bottled water paper plates and napkins available for purchase. Flights are $16 and a guided wine tasting is $18 per person.

I’ve driven past this winery probably 100 times since I was a little kid but I finally was able to stop in this weekend. I had such a fun time doing the wine tasting with my friend there! Will definitely be back. The owner is super knowledgeable and very kind, able to answer any questions you have.

Hickory Hill Vineyards is a hidden gem, offering a low-key and picturesque experience for wine lovers. Nestled in a serene location, this vineyard provides a delightful escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

Upon arrival, we were immediately captivated by the charming swing and the enchanting sounds of a live bluegrass band playing in the background. The inviting atmosphere set the tone for a truly relaxing and enjoyable time.

One of the highlights of our visit was the vineyard's encouragement to bring our own picnic food. We happily spread out a blanket, indulging in delicious bites while sipping on their delightful selection of local wines. We were a small group of 4 people and showed up about a half hour before closing.

Ignoring the circumstances, Donald, the proprietor, provided an unbelievable experience for us. It started with a normal tasting, interspersed with scientific tidbits about wine making, and ended on a free vertical tasting of Cabernet Sauvignons along with complete, knowledgeable explanations on terms, tastes, and the varied nuances of their product. He also stayed past closing to ensure we left completely satisfied.

Donald was easy to talk to, eloquent, and made you feel welcome to ask any questions you had...unlike some snotty wineries closer to DC.

Superb, phenomenal, wish they were closer to us....and their Cab Francs and...

We went spur-of-the-moment. Due to current situations, they had to make adjustments for "safe" service. It was all so well done and cute. We got two "flights to go" in gift bags that included wine glasses and paper and pencils. We were hungry so we got cheese, salami and crackers. The gentleman that helped us was so funny and friendly. We ate at picnic tables overlooking the winery and mountains. We were thrilled with how they adjusted to the situation. I went in not expecting much..and left happy, with wines I liked, and impressed with their presentation. Bravo to them!! I wish I could do there Saturday...
