Poplar Gap Park — Attraction in Virginia

Poplar Gap Park Excessively rude lawn mower guy ruined our picnic today!! We went to the park for lunch to have a picnic and noticed a guy mowing where we intended to eat. Being respectful we decided to eat at the left side of the top of the park. We spotted a nice shaded area of picnic tables and pulled in by the gazebo where a sign clearly stated “ Do not park in the grass”. We pulled in adjacent to the gazebo where there was no grass present. Rude lawn mower guy shut his mower off, drives up to us from across the park while we’re unloading our food to walk the distance to our destination and says to us, “ Theres a parking lot for a reason, get out of the grass”! There was absolutely no grass present where we were parked. We kindly packed up and found a more pleasant place to picnic out of the park. We will be contacting county officials over the incident as we frequent the park with our children and will not tolerate such rudeness in an area our tax dollars built and maintain.
