I've been wanting to kayak here since they opened it to the public 3 summers ago. Perfect day and perfect weather. Little road to small parking lot. Friendly staff to help you set off from the dock. Plenty of kayaks. And the lake is pretty large so lots to explore! Many turtles sunbathing and bridges to paddle under. Only downside is the hourly cost is a bit expensive ($10/hr for single kayak) compared to where I normally go at Waller Mill Park in Wmsbg. But I'm sure I will still return.

Beautiful little lake that's surrounded by the Nolad Trail, which is a great 5 mile trail.

Beautiful place to walk or sit and view the James River. Peaceful and serene.

We were there for the annual festival. MM did a great job setting it up and running it. One problem I had was when the food truck I went to, closed early. Another was the prices. I realize that of the foods offered are considered more "exotic" than normal, but that doesn't necessarily mean that higher prices are a necessity. We're looking forward to next...
