This is a pretty special spot with their quality food and the fun, homey-ness of the location. The spicy chicken sandwich, and fries, were both exceptional - so good!! All the flavors of the sandwich were awesome and really on point, and it was so crispy too. And the fries had a simple seasoning on them that went a very long way. Unfortunately, I came across a lot that I was displeased by, and much that they need to work on; it was really only the food that makes me award four stars. Although the food was very good, there were very few fries, and I wanted more when I was done. And there were supposed to be pickles on the sandwich, as well, according to the menu (there were not). But more than this, the biggest problem was how they were running the restaurant with their employees. We could only see two when we came, and only one taking orders. Being that we ordered pickup, we had to wait ten minutes just to get up there to get the food we already paid for, which was frustrating knowing it was just there getting cold - because there was only one person taking orders, seemingly doing everything. She also got every person’s drinks done right after they ordered (before she talked to any other customers), which she was oddly slow at, and it was an uncomfortable and unnecessary stretch when they were already short-staffed with a long line. Luckily, these are fairly easy fixes, that I hope they realize soon. Another factor I can’t dismiss was their prices! Everything is pretty expensive. Usually with prices like theirs, you have a nice table inside and a waiter to serve you - that would make the fast food style acceptable with their prices. But so little food presented so simply and informally does not entirely match up to the prices. Even with how good it is, I am still hesitant to want to go back, because of how expensive they are. And I know they’re extra organic and what not, but that doesn’t always make up for all of it. So to sum it up, I’m not totally sure how I feel about Farmers Table. I’m rooting for them, because I know they could end up doing extremely well, and going very far! But I am also not very motivated to stick around and keep visiting until they address some of...
Read moreMy wife and I went here for a date night and overall would not recommend. We were excited to hear they were coming to the Peninsula after hearing great things about the Smithfield location.
First, there is very, very limited seating which meant we had to wait for a seat as the weather outside wasn’t good for their outdoor seating. If it is a nice day, this won’t be an issue.
Second, it was slow service. From the time it took to order to get our food took much longer than expected from somewhere comparable like Five Guys or MooYah. They were working hard, but didn’t look like they had enough staff. When I needed a drink refill, I had to wait on the line to clear to ask the associate because you don’t have access. Limited employees meant another wait.
Finally, and most importantly, the food is very disappointing. I will grant that the burgers were good, but none of the sides are from scratch. Onion rings, fries, etc. are all frozen. For a restaurant that uses the fresh, farm to table concept in its advertising this was highly disappointing. The beef (and maybe the chicken) is about the only thing fresh. Everything else is off the shelf freezer section stuff.
For the amount of money we paid, it wasn’t worth it. If the sides were freshly made it would have come closer to being worth it. The quality of the burger couldn’t overcome the...
Read moreWe came to try it out yesterday, Sunday the 27 of Nov. about mid afternoon. We won't be back. Several problems. Two burgers with two fries and two drinks with a 4 dollar tip cost us $40. They forgot one order of fries. When I went to show them the mistake and the receipt I had trouble getting the 2 young teens from behind the counter's attention because they were deep in conversation and eating. The burgers were terribly greasy. My guest could not finish their burger because it was dripping, literally, with greasy (their first bite squired out a stream of grease onto my guest's face, and not just a little bit but a stream). Both of the order of fries where room temperature, not even warm. We threw them away with the burger. The tiny shake was good even though it was really really small for $5, more like you get for a sample. The outside of the cup the shake came in was dirty with poorly wiped away chocolate. It seemed to be staffed by teenage girls, which isn't always a bad sign because a place down Warwick is staffed by high schoolers. But Sunday's staff was what we would expect a group of unsupervized teenage girls to be, chatting away and giggling while nibbling on fries while ignoring customers. We can't ever recommend this place. Way way over priced greasy burgers and tasteless french fries and horrid service from...
