Up front - did not get to experience the wine due to the staff. This place was suggested to us by a local brewery, we looked on google and liked the photos and decided to go. Upon arrival we had 2 cars and the individuals assisting with parking (whom we told we had a party of 9 one being a child) told us where to park and saw us all walk in. As we were waiting to enter the tasting room after we told them 6 adults were tasting another staff member approached the 2 adults and child (who were tossing a tennis ball back and forth with a lacrosse stick near the corn hole boards) and informed us we would all have to leave due to the fact that on Saturday’s only they were 21 and up and couldn’t accommodate us as they were busy (we spotted another group of 7 and 2 groups of 3 at the time). This is a private establishment and perfect entitled to make their own rules, however we were offended that we encountered at least 2 other staff members whom had said nothing to us about these “rules” and when we questioned the reason why the response was short and dismissive and failed to explain any logic. In hindsight it appears as if these are posted on their webpage, but again having been referred to them from another local business we never visited the page. Thus were unaware of their age policies and apparent reservation suggestions/requirements (again website is a little confusing on their requirement there)
Some signage would be nice at the entrance if there are only certain rules enforced on certain days (according to their website it’s 21 and over all the time but the lady that told us to leave said only saturdays so there’s some confusion there I guess) or just even making people aware in general of rules of the establishment.
We will not be back to try the establishments offerings as the staffs treatment on first try is enough to keep us...
Read moreWe visited Wisteria from Florida on July 6th and it was delightful. My 8 year old boy made an instant best friend with the owner’s 4 year old daughter who kept him busy the entire time. They ran, they frolicked through the vineyard, they played on the playground, played with other children, befriended an array of animals (chickens, turkeys, sheep, ducks, a cat named Bo, and a kitten!!!), and chased fireflies. ✨ We got our feet wet in the shaded cool creek, which was really nice on that 97 degree day, with my delicious cold Sangria in hand. 🍷 Later that night there was a cover band playing all of the favorites. The owners and staff were welcoming, friendly, and knowledgeable. In addition to wine and bites they also sell the fresh eggs from their chickens, turkeys, and ducks. Oh and merch!
10/10 recommend! Family friendly, chill, and delicious. Don’t forget to buy some bottles to bring back home and for friends, family, co-workers, neighbors, your pet sitter, your pool guy, mailman, just bring back a few cases- that should cover it!🤝
And don’t forget to tip generously. 😉 We...
Read moreI’ve visited Wisteria Farm and Vineyard several times. This was my first time staying in their new rental, The Rustic Reserve (which can be found through their website or on Airbnb). The rental is entirely your own, with a private entrance next to their tasting room. It’s a one bedroom, one bathroom, full kitchen, and living room with pullout couch for more sleeping accommodations. Very cozy and exactly what we needed with plenty of space. It had all the things we needed for our stay. There is a food lion right down the road, as well as several places to eat. And most importantly, wine a few steps away. 😉 We are from Florida and saw that snow was in the forecast. We were very fortunate that the Airbnb was available! We drove there in one day just in time for the snow. It was magical and memorable. Fur, the cat, was a family favorite. We were there just last July when he was a kitten. It was exciting to see him all grown up. Thank you Cassie, Steve, and Lizzy! See...
