Five Stars – A Perfect Pause at Connolly Park
After a heartwarming dinner with my mother, my Mother’s Day celebration continued in the most delightful way—courtesy of my thoughtful daughter. She whisked me away to Ott’s in Voorhees, where we indulged in a personal favorite—mussels in white sauce paired with soft, warm white bread. A glass of Merlot for me, and a classic Shirley Temple for her, set the tone for an evening rich in laughter and precious reminiscing.
To wine down from such a rich and love-filled day, we made our way to Connolly Park in Cherry Hill, a serene and scenic gem perfect for strolling and soul-soothing. We let the melodies of Lauren Daigle and Chris Tomlin guide our steps, allowing faith and fresh air to mingle beautifully under the twilight sky.
Our journey didn’t end there. The final note to our perfect day played out at Sundae in West Berlin, where we treated ourselves to our favorite coffee ice cream—all enjoyed picnic-style in the comfort of our car, right on their cozy premises.
Connolly Park was the ideal middle chapter in a storybook day. Peaceful paths, clean grounds, and just the right balance of nature and nurture. If you’re looking to make meaningful memories with the people you love most—this park is the pause you didn’t know you needed.
Magnificent. Magical. Marvelous. Mother’s Day was everything I dreamed—and Connolly Park helped make it...
Read moreGood place to go sledding, especially with young kids. Walk down the path past the smaller playground and there is a decent little hill with plenty of space for everyone. But it's short, and by day's end, the best parts are worn down to the grass.
Across the park to the left (pictured) is a good spot for longer runs, but it's not steep at all. Kids will need a push, pull or running start, but it's a decent ride after that.
The other edges of the park are much steeper, but the best runs are overgrown with shrubs and sticker bushes to stop people from sledding. If you're willing to risk getting a few scrapes, you can probably still find a trail or two worth the walk and effort.
Those trails (and the ones alongside the right side of the path as you enter the park) are NOT great for little kids, as the branches and trees create a lot of natural obstacles....
Read moreI have always loved this park, my dog starts barking when we pull in the driveway to the lot with excitement. However, yesterday, September 24, a black shepherd attacked her unprovoked within 5 minutes of entering the big side. My dog is an Irish Setter about 60 lbs. She was aggressively tackled and the owner of the Shepard had a spray bottle which got his dog off of her. My question, if you have a spray bottle ready for bad behavior then why are you taking this obviously aggressive over 70 lb dog to a unleashed park?? The owner never apologized and acted irritated when I asked him to hold his dogs collar while we left. I did not get a name but the park is expressly not for aggressive dogs and the bylaws say that behavior will not be tolerated so if anybody knows him, there were several people there....he needs...
