Absolutely worse experience at the salamonie I have ever had.!!!!! First thing was the nails and screws around the firepit/grill. The pnats were ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE.!!! When the DNR named Parker stops to look at the screws and chase 2 racoons off our site he gets in trouble by another DNR named Tony..!!! Then the next day we leave our site to go to the beach everything on our site was perfect to coming back to my brand new tent being broke which I mean the poles were snapped... And my sister in laws tent being ram sacked and soda all over the bottom of the tent. Called and made a report nothing can be done about it... RULES are not being followed.. a camper that was a couple sites from us was allowing their kid to shot a pump up pellet gun at wildlife and their siblings. Then there were people at the beach with there dogs off the leash swimming next to me and my family. Then there was other people there at the beach smoking a cigarette inside the water with me and my family next to them and flips the cigarette butt in the water next to children. 2am Monday morning had to call main gate to let them know there was only a quarter roll of toilet paper left in both bathrooms by the playground in...

Read moreOn the way back home to the Indianapolis area from a state park even further north, I primarily stopped here to check out the mountain biking trails I had read about. I wasn't sure exactly what to expect, but didn't have the highest expectations compared to my normal riding locations of Town Run Trail Park or Brown County State Park. However, I was very pleasantly surprised with the Kintionki trail. It's not the longest at around only 4 miles, but it had plenty of features for intermediate and advanced riders alike, which some fun berms, steep down and ups, log ramps, and overall just great use the limited topography that they had to work with. While here, I also noticed they had a disc golf course, so I made sure to check that out as well since I had brought my disc set with me. It's only a 9 hole course with gravel tees and relatively short holes, but it was a fun additional activity to do if already there (I wouldn't make the drive if my only goal was looking for a disc...
