The disc golf course here is called the Beast which really just means Brazos East. However it is the site of the yearly WACO elite disc golf tournament where you can watch the best pro disc Golfers from around the world compete. Spectator access is pretty good but you will not be able to watch the wooded holes unless you buy a vip pass. Passes go on sale sometime in December and go quickly. Lodging nearby is plentiful and close to many bars and restaurants. Parking is free and there will be food but no beer sales. Lots of folks bring their own drinks and chairs and there are many good locations from which to watch the action. Weather can be hit or miss so expect to see windy and sometimes cold conditions. Autographing was not what I had hoped to see but it was available at times. There was a bbq truck on my visit which was yummy. There were also plenty of pretty ladies playing really well which was awesome and exciting. This is an early well attended elite tour event for the DGPT and the small town venue makes it very accessible. The laid back Texas atmosphere and accessible venue make it a great way to...

Wonderful walking/biking trail along the Brazos River. Wide paved path transitions from open space right by the river to winding trail thru the woods. Goes all the way to Cameron Park where you can cross The Brazos and connect to the downtown trail. A disc golf course also follows this trail with interesting holes running thru tight woods. Great walk, quite flat. Be aware that you can start from one of several parking lots along the road and walk to Cameron Park where the trail then goes back up the bluff side of the river. BUT ... there is no bridge at that end of the trail, so you'll need to back track all the way back to your car. Maybe not an issue for some, maybe a blister issue...

The park deserves a five star. Clean and great place to walk the dogs. Just a warning about the city workers. Be careful. Today a friend of two city workers cut me and my dogs off just as we were crossing to get to the sidewalk with thier car. I have a video on my Facebook of the park and them sitting in the shade all together after the incident. The person driving was only staring at the city workers and not the road. So don't assume you have the right away, even if you do. Be careful of the city workers and other drivers...

This was a wonderful outing with the family in Waco. The park offered many cool things to do such as feeding the ducks which they were thrilled about, the playground area, and walking across the old the foot bridge. My mother grew up here and told me stories about that bridge during a time when cars still zoomed across. This park also has a recreational center with other options when open... Just an all around great spot! 😍

I really enjoyed this park! It just so happened that the local Amtgard group was fighting here when I went. They are usually across the river on the hillside in Cameron Park. Great amenities, was nice place to bbq. Even had a gazebo to eat under. All and all, great park! I recommend.
