So me and my boys went horseback riding and camping here for a days. Well, my boy gets thrown from his horse and was lost. Walks around and spots these tourists camping. He just tried to ask for help and they flip TFO. Their friends come riding up all pulling guns and throwing hands. They had NO Faith in us. Tourist dude’s wife was screaming at us to take Jimmy Johnson, take Tommy Thompson, just don’t take the girl. And we were like “lady! Chill. We just need directions to a Holiday Inn or Applebees or something”. Anyways. I think they were crazy. They had furniture everywhere and the ladies were all skinny dipping. The great time it's a great experience highly recommend taking the trip. What I typically do with my buddies put in at Highway 16 float down the highway for 20 miles it's a 3-day 2-night trip usually done on kayaks or canoes however this past March of 2018 I did put my jon boat in with a 15 horsepower motor and used it for the trip there are a lot of shallow spots where we had to get out and pull but overall it was a really good time and it does save you from having to paddle 20 miles plus we had a lot of gear and beer. Overall that was my second trip and I will make another dozen trips down this River hopefully. A good spot for information is Rochelle's canoe service it is off of Highway for it is the only other exit to public property once you put in at the dam. Overall excellent good time good River...
