Great trail: Eagle trail was built by local boy scouts. The trail does need some severe maintenance, mostly a wooden bridge that is falling apart. Many trail areas are washed away or need heavy clearing, especially on the hills. Park benches appear to be put at random areas within the park, they could use some viewing advice. The hill nearest the retention pond has a spring that flows over the paved path, making for some interesting colors and algae growth, slippery when wet. The DaVinci style bridge is still doing great but there is a smaller bridge that needs attention deeper on the trail. The deck boards have come up and floated downstream. Freidt Park is basically the same park, they connect and are technically one large park unit; freidt park is at the top of the hill. There is a good sled riding hill and should be enjoyed regularly. If you sled at freidt park when you reach the bottom you are now in holmesbrook Park.
Animals are welcome, no Porta potties at holmesbrook Park but there are some at freidt Park, which would be about 1/2 mile walk up the hill trail heading north west. If you head east you end up in Wadsworth neighborhood which would be weird cause you have to pee.
It's a local park so nothing is extravagant, just a cool little valley park that could use some minor updates....
Read moreVisited here Oct 2022 after Medina County took over in May 2022 since it was in the 2022 Medina County Trekking Through Autumn trail list and I have to say this little park has lots of potential. Despite it's small size relative to other MC parks, it's very peaceful and plenty of beautiful scenery. But the nature trails need a lot of work as they aren't marked at all, other than the sign at the entrance and many of them just end up in a neighborhood meaning you have to turn around and go back. Here's hoping MCPD can turn this place around in the near future and make it a...
Read moreI ride my bike here often. I really appreciate all the hard work the local boy scouts have done to improve the trails and build bridges. I went for a ride on Father's Day to find a father and son team working hard building a bridge in the 90deg heat. These improvements will be enjoyed by many for years to come. The park itself is long and narrow, I believe just over 60 acres the runs the length of the ravine between College St and I76. There is a small stream and a small pond as well. The paved path is frequently used by people...
