We had a fantastic time at the new park located at 200 Trapelo Rd, Waltham, MA! This place is truly a gem for families with children of all ages. The space is thoughtfully designed and incredibly vibrant.
What We Loved: • Massive Playground Area: The main playground is beautifully designed with multiple slides, climbing structures, bridges, and interactive play elements that kept the kids entertained for hours. The whimsical design with oversized flowers and colorful canopies creates a playful, storybook-like environment.
• Water Playground (Splash Pad): Perfect for warmer days, the water playground features interactive sprayers, colorful structures, and a safe soft surface. Our little ones couldn’t get enough of it!
• Mini Golf Area: A beautifully landscaped mini golf area adds a fun and relaxing option for older kids and adults. It’s scenic and well-maintained—great for a quiet stroll as well.
• Inclusive Equipment: The park is accessibility-forward with inclusive swing sets and ramps, which made it enjoyable for everyone.
A Minor Drawback: • Limited Parking: Parking is quite limited, especially on weekends. We had to wait about 15 minutes to get a spot. I recommend arriving early or being patient—it’s absolutely worth it once you’re inside.
Only portable bathrooms are provided and no vendors for water or ice cream
Overall, this is one of the best public parks in the area. Clean, safe, and full of energy. Highly recommended for a weekend...
Read moreBrand new playground! This has been so popular at certain days and times you need a reservation! A very inclusive playground in a huge space. Probably biggest play-space I’ve seen. It’s fully surrounded with a single entrance. It has the rubber bouncy floor with some cement pathways. It’s in a wide open field so no natural sun coverage but they have a lot of fabric canopies to stay in the shade. They have a few picnic tables and benches but could use more, and they have a lot of empty space so I would assume they’ll add more in the future. There are lots of slides, climbing structures, an adorable little imagination kids space with fire truck, farmers market, and house. There is a rope and seat zip line which are fun. Lots of spinning elements and seesaws. They have 10 swings with 4 of them being accessible. They have a few wheelchair specific accessible elements. There is also a splash area that isn’t open yet, which looks decent. And there’s a free mini golf course right next to it with a fun bike/scooter pathway surrounding it (check hours). Also lots of musical elements which I haven’t seen at other playgrounds. They have 5 portable toilets, wish they could’ve built a dedicated bathroom (they have the space). Unfortunately no drinking water fountain. Definitely...
Read moreAbsolutely ridiculous that a park tax payers pay money to use this and you show up and have to reserve parking. To boot, all the reservations are taken for some reason, yet it’s an empty parking lot. This should 100% be first come first serve. Where is the services for the people who don’t end up using their reservation and don’t make it ? So another disabled child gets screwed because someone else is inconsistent ? This is a park for children, not a tourist event. Therefore this should be first come first serve. Absolute negligence on the town and the parks and rec department. There should be no reason that people who don’t even live here should be able to reserve spaces and not show up. To be told “good luck!” By a park ranger on finding parking is ridiculous while he looks at me standing infront of a pretty much empty parking...
