i went here as a child in the 90’s and then brought my first son here in the 2010’s when i was a young mom in my 20’s and now i am taking my two youngest “practically irish twins” who are about a year +6 months apart here periodically since 2024. the playground between the 90’s-2020’s has been upgraded atleast 3 times along with the splash pad. it was one of the only splash pads in the area before splash pads were a thing! the most recent update has been amazing! great for my 1 year old daughter (squishy safe ground for babies & young toddlers who are just learning to walk as well as my neuro divergent 3 year old! my only problem with any playground or public park in eastern mass (or really in new england) is that the bathrooms are only open from memorial day through labor day. same with splash pads!! people have to use the facilities 365 days a year and with climate change i wish more playgrounds had ACCESSIBLE family restrooms & splash pads cause it can get HOT (or cold) on any given sunday or day of the week february -June! please give us parents of young children who need changing tables or just need to pee or WASH OUR HANDS access to clean bathrooms so we can wash our hands after changing very dirty diapers. it’s a public...
Read moreA great splash pad and playground, for hot days and cold alike. A big boulder-strewn splash pad with water jets of varied strength and shape, to appeal to different ages and comfort levels.
The splash pad area is ringed with benches for sitting and bags/towels. A covered open air dining area has 6-8 picnic tables, where one can sit and watch the kids run through the water.
A toddler playground and older kid playground are great for cooler days, or for playing between jumps through the water. (My one gripe - no good seating near the playground areas for disabled or footsore adults.) It's a nice playground, and I watched young and older kids interact with the features, swinging athletically or just playing quietly.
Along the way between the playground and small free parking lot (hard to find at first) are woods and giant sunny meadow where dogs run free, then a shallow brook perfect for wading. It all feels like some scene in a book about an...
Read moreI loved this place! Was our first time here, but so glad we found it. The splash pad is really nice built on that bouncy recycled rubber material, not concrete. There's large climbing rocks scattered about for playing on, and the area is big enough for kids to run around in without getting in each other's way. The playground is very neat with super unique structures. The place wasn't crowded at all like some other splash pads in the area. There's a water fountain for both people and dogs, and a bathhouse for changing and potty breaks. The ice cream man comes by every hour, so be prepared with cash or a diversion snack for your wee ones. There's also a bunch of picnic tables and benches which are under a roof.. the perfect shady place for parents to watch while their kids play or...
