Great place to paddle the Mahoning River. They take you a few miles up the road and drop you off with kayaks, paddles, and life jackets. I'd reccomend bringing your own life jackets and dry bags for phones and personal items, but you can also rent dry bags.
The short trip is a perfect length for unexperinced kayakers, it also gets you back to a restroom before anyone needs to use it.

Read moreYou have to love Ohio, the people speak for what they want, and they do what they want anyway. It's all fenced off, they cut all kinds of trees down there, and across the street. Supposedly for a waste treatment plant, and to remove the dam. The people of this community DO NOT want the dam removed. And as for the treatment plant, the land was cleared months ago, and nothing happened, we just have a field there now, and nobody knows when or what is going to happen. Read moreI was born near this city,I used to fish here before it was anything, whatever you do dont paddle left there's a dam that way and the bubbles could trap you and you"ll drown. Haven't had the opportunity to rent a canoe maybe it has to be scheduled. Seems to me if someone was there more people would use it maybe add a few signs on w market st and on 422 and some direction signage on the freeway nearby.i not sure if fishing is...
