Canoe City Metropark is a great place to enjoy the Mahoning River. This park emerged in the 1920’s. The park has enough parking for 20+ cars. Even greater for boat trailers. Once they get rid of the Dam. The river will be so much cleaner for future generations. They even have a shuttle program.

Clean park. Great river access and fishing. Boat launch too. Kayak rentals on site from Mahoning river adventures. Great staff and fairly priced. All you have to do is paddle and enjoy the views. Staff handel's everything from taking you upstream to pulling your boat out at the outake..

I grew up in Leavittsburg and it's great to visit the area and see that they have brought some life back to Canoe City. The Kayak trip was great. I recommend more folks to go take a quick kayak trip on the Mahoning

Great place to paddle the Mahoning River. They take you a few miles up the road and drop you off with kayaks, paddles, and life jackets. I'd reccomend bringing your own life jackets and dry bags for phones and personal items, but you can also rent dry bags.

The short trip is a perfect length for unexperinced kayakers, it also gets you back to a restroom before anyone needs to use it.

Parking was easy and we had reserved our rentals online so they were ready for us. It also comes up as Paddle the River and Mahoning River Adventures, they are all the same place. When making reservations online, just make sure you have selected the Mahoning River because they also have tours on...

You have to love Ohio, the people speak for what they want, and they do what they want anyway. It's all fenced off, they cut all kinds of trees down there, and across the street. Supposedly for a waste treatment plant, and to remove the dam. The people of this community DO NOT want the dam removed. And as for the treatment plant, the land was cleared months ago, and nothing happened, we just have a field there now, and nobody knows when or what is going to happen. They have a fence up around the park so nobody can enter. Way to go Ohio, nothing like wasting tax dollars and feeding...

I was born near this city,I used to fish here before it was anything, whatever you do dont paddle left there's a dam that way and the bubbles could trap you and you"ll drown. Haven't had the opportunity to rent a canoe maybe it has to be scheduled. Seems to me if someone was there more people would use it maybe add a few signs on w market st and on 422 and some direction signage on the freeway nearby.i not sure if fishing is...
