Tiny little peninsula with a few short trails and an interesting history. Chepiwanoxet Point used to be an island, but is now connected by an isthmus filled in with a residential neighborhood. It also apparently used to house a seaplane factory, although there is surprisingly little evidence remaining, at least that I saw.
It is extremely small and won’t make for a long walk, but it has some beautiful views and seems like a great spot for fishing, quahogging, or birding. Getting there is a little challenging, with only one narrow and winding road leading to the dirt parking lot. The group maintains the paths and signs might want to sweep the entire area for refuse. I found an incredible amount of broken glass everywhere I walked. So much glass...it might be wise to have the area checked randomly by police for rowdy kids. If they do there's no where to run except out...
