Like most parks, Rocky Point is open from dawn to dusk. Unlike other parks, Rocky Point State Park is a shallow grave of a former amusement park. With some rolling hills, so woodsy trails and terrain, and some excellent waterfront view, it is the perfect place for a little Rhode Island exploration. Depending on which parking lot you park in and which entrance you meander through, you'll either see rocky shoreline, or sandy beach. One open field has what looks to be a structure that was once part of a large park, but that is adjacent a paved trail wide enough to share space with bikes. There is some technical trails adjacent the rocky shoreline that really carries with it some fun and distracting terrain. The issue is that the park is small enough that about 30 minutes of jogging covers a majority of the connecting trail system. However, there is some sandy beach both south and north of the park, accessing either private shoreline, or a road that may eventually connect to a park north of Rocky Point. Bring a dog, bring a family, it's diverse enough that you'll find enough natural wonders that you might want to examine it more. Recommended, definitely good for a picnic

What a great place for a little nostalgia. This is where the amusement Park Rocky Point used to be. There are still a number of pieces of old rides from the Rocky Point Park that are still up that you can check out. They have a number of very large fields that you can definitely play baseball, soccer or game of football on. Pretty open with a little bit of woods here and there. There is one section where you can walk up to where the Gondolier used to be and there's a number of large rocks you can climb and even a couple of little caves you can check out. They do have a number of walking paths. There is a little bit of a beach and then they have a really nice Pier that you can go out on. We saw a number of people fishing off the pier or just checking out the view of the bay. It's a pretty cool Park, well worth spending a little bit of time here and checking it all out.

I last visited Rocky Point State Park in May. This site was an amusement park but is now managed by Rhode Island State Parks (RISP) with funding from the City of Warwick and the Department of Environmental Management (RIDEM). Together, these organizations have transformed the area into a kite flying field, oceanfront beach, and ADA compliant trails, along with supporting the Rocky Point Park Pathways Project by Leadership Rhode Island. Since 2017, a series of pathway signs detail the history of the park using text and images. For an affordable, family-friendly day away filled with easy walking and plenty of signage, you can't beat a trip down to Rocky Point State Park. With plenty of park benches and space to bring your own beach chair, you will have no trouble finding a place to relax once you have read your fill of history facts.

This place brings back lots of childhood memories. What a great way to support the community and enjoy a movie together. Police are there to monitor things. Thanks to all of the volunteers who help with the parking lot and assisting with the events here. It's free. May need to bring bug spray. Food trucks are there from 6pm until movie starts (about 9pm). Plenty of parking including handicapped is available. Great music playing before movie begins. Was impressed. Bring snacks and non alcoholic drinks, just take your trash. Nice thing to do with family and / or friends. I did not see any restrooms in the area.

This is a great place for a jog, a bike ride, or a leisurely walk on the path or down by the beach. Dogs are allowed (on leashes - just dont forget to clean up after them). There's a lot to explore here since it used to be an amusement park, plus there's plenty of space for kids to run around or for picnics. The beach is relatively clean and perfect for people who love collecting shells. There is a bathroom on sight, but I don't recall if there was a sink with soap or just hand sanitizer outside - something to be aware of. Overall a pretty clean and relaxing place.

Great place to come for a run, walk, some exercise with or without your pup. Lots of monthly events during the summer from food truck night to movie in the park nights to yoga nights. This past weekend was the traveling Vietnam wall, which was very sombering to see up close. Fish from the newly built pier, picnic with the family, or enjoy the beach, there is something for everyone and plenty of room for everyone! The paved path is I believe just about a mile and a half, maybe slightly more. Come at dusk and maybe catch a glimpse or two of some deer.
