Read moreI stumbled upon this beautiful township park while driving home from a friend’s place—and what a gem! Heritage Park is a vibrant recreational spot that truly has something for everyone, making it perfect for families, fitness enthusiasts, kids, and nature lovers alike.
The park features: • Scenic walking trails around three lakes, with plenty of benches, bridges, and shaded spots for birdwatching or simply soaking in the view. • A boardwalk and a bridge that arches out into the pond, offering up-close views of ducks, geese, and serene sunsets. • Play areas for all age groups, including swings, slides, and water features. The splash park near Summit on the Park is a hit with little ones. • Multiple sports facilities like soccer fields, baseball fields, volleyball courts, and an amphitheater that hosts concerts and community events in the summer. • Veterans memorials, a small clock tower, and access to nearby amenities like Canton Library, Summit on the Park, and a golf course. • Plenty of pavilions available for party rentals and covered picnic areas.
Positives: • Gorgeous scenery with peaceful lakes, wildlife, and plenty of green space. • Active community hub with events and festivals throughout summer. • Ample free parking and drinking fountains along the trails. • Close proximity to community centers and facilities.
Suggestions for Improvement: • More shade trees along walking trails would be helpful, especially on hot days when the sun exposure is intense. • A dedicated bike path would make a big difference, as bikers currently share paths with walkers, which can be inconvenient and unsafe. • Some areas of the park feel underutilized—adding more flower beds or landscaping could enhance the visual appeal, especially compared to nearby parks in Northville and Farmington.
This park is a true asset to the community—peaceful yet active, natural yet well-equipped. Whether you’re here for a quick walk, a family picnic, kids’ playtime, or an outdoor concert, Heritage Park...
Read moreLove the lake / ponds and path to walk around them. the bathroom building is in fine shape. There's a nice carnival here every summer and great fireworks. Nicely maintained. rolling hills are nice. there is an amphitheater where they do events sometimes.
there is often fishing around the ponds and a family fishing event at least once per year. the Police Station is across the street. The Library is also across the street, which allows for a cool combination of indoor and outdoor activities from the same parking lot.
There isn't any food or drink to buy any closer than 1/4 to 1/2 a mile. Once you're that far North then, there is a Pizza place, a CVS, Chinese food, a Grocery store, a gas station.
I have never seen any problem or issue at the park and although I'm not remotely one to be messed with or scared that I will, I think that it is generally a safe place, long as you're still vigilant and not stupid about things. Anybody could at any time do anything but I definitely don't ever see anybody just anybody just hanging out or ever mothering anybody or anything of the sort at all there.
There are tables and a really nice boardwalk, bridge thing that arches out in to the pond, It is stable and in good structural shape , wonderful view of nature.
I can tell you that sledding doesn't work. the hill are just under steep enough to get you going.
Overall, one of the nicest municipal town center parks ive ever seen, especially...
