Compared to all the small theaters I've visited thus far between Box Elder and Weber Counties, I've consistently been the most impressed with the Terrace Plaza Playhouse. Always a good experience when I've gone.
Actors/actresses are great, it looks like the owners are slowly renovating the building (there were pictures inside that documented the building facelift), ticket pricing is perfect, & they offer a nice snack/drink selection that's priced competitively with most theaters.
Only possible (minor) recommendations would be: Streamline bathroom setup for the intermission, but it's a very minor thing. The crowd seems to all get through during the intermission. So very minor.
The seats along the extreme edges of the seating area have particularly awful views even any part of the play production is done behind the wall (to their view). Not sure if more wall for stage entrance could be opened up and replaced with curtains, or if another solution exists to resolve that, but it is a somewhat minor issue that could be addressed.
The seating is showing it's age. I understand that building has been a theater since 1992, and the seats are very likely original. They function safely, but are in need of an update.
Overall, it's a great experience and a playhouse I'll...
Read moreMy wife and I attended TITANIC last night. Wow! I was skeptical about attending a "Musical" about this terrible tragedy. However, I cannot give enough praise to the performers, the music, the factual integrity, and the emotional intensity of this performance. The drama and consequences of the miscalculations that led to the sinking of the "unsinkable Titanic" were so perfectly portrayed. The raw humanity, the love stories, husbands and wives being forever separated, the unfairness of life or death based on whether you were a 1st class, 2nd class, or a 3rd class passenger. The emotion and passion in the eyes of the performers was as if I was right there on deck with them. The musicians and the words of the songs were so deeply heartfelt. The eternal "goodbye's." We were so deeply impacted that we have purchased tickets to see TITANIC again! Then too, there were real-life displays in the foyer of items recovered from the actual Titanic, and large pictures and biographies of the main characters in the tragedy. The intimacy of Beverly's Terrace Plaza Playhouse adds still more to an already overflowing cup...
Read moreOVERVIEW - 4.0 Came here upon the insistence of my younger brother with his family and our families.
LOCATION - 3 I'll be honest, this place was a bit hard to find with the GPS (truth be told, but my wife was in the passenger seat as the co-pilot, but I don't think she was really paying close attention), but it was mixed amongst all the residential homes.
PRICE - 4 We didn't pay for the tickets as it was a gift from my folks, but seeing the grand total for everyone, it was rather pricey.
PRODUCT/SERVICES - 3 The play was entertaining and you could tell it was well rehearsed. We saw Scrooge. My problem with the play was the story is all too well known. The play felt like it had 4 to 5 songs too many. I think in the end the play lasted about 3 hours including the intermission.
POINTERS/PERKS - 5 I'm sure there are pointers and perks. We sat in the center in the middle, which seemed to be prime for the play.
EMPLOYEES - 5 The staff was well practiced and did a great job performing. It is obvious that they've been doing...
