Absolutely beautiful place to hike with a gorgeous opportunity for a picture around every turn. Visitors center volunteers are very friendly. The walk has several directions in varying distances to take. Along the way of all the paths there are picnic benches to rest and/or eat at. Covered bridge was a beautiful attraction. However, trying to figure out where you are with the map they have to take I wish there were more posting to tell you which trail you are on. It's very easy to get off track and lost. Also the walk is not stroller friendly, even with a jogging stroller. But my older boys loved it. We also love how many acres it is so you can't cover it all in one day so it's a great place to revisit. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone just ditch the stroller.

Visited Gorman Nature Center the morning of 9-2-25. Nice vistor center, with animals and indoor restrooms. Very welcoming and informational. Nice paths that takes you off the beaten path despite being so close to development, it's a great little escape into nature. We saw many critters and enjoyed our quiet adventure. Paths were somewhat hard to navigate. I wasn't to worried as where you're at, it's unlikely you'll get stranded or truly lost, and it was enjoyable sorting it out but the signage or paint can be easy to miss, or crossroads confusing. We started on the red trial, ended up on the green trail, and finished on the blue trail. 😆🤷... one trail with a covered bridge was seemingly closed off. We will most definitely visit and explore more.

We were looking for the perfect place to relax and watch the total solar eclipse. I found it on Google Maps and thought "This is the one!" It did not disappoint. The nature center was closed but we expected that. We enjoyed the beautiful scenery. There is a pond you can walk all the way around. They also have a walk way that goes out into the water. The walkway could use some repairs but we felt safe walking on it. I was pleasantly surprised to see all of the turtles that populated the pond.

We went here to walk the 2.4 mile nature trail as outlined in our Alltrails app. When we arrived, the trail head was easy to find. Once we were on the trail it was well marked and easy to follow. However, after about 1.5 miles we found that most of the foot bridges were either damaged beyond safe passage or washed out completely. The trail markings went to nothing and the outer trail disappeared entirely into dense under growth and briars. We tried to go down the closest inner trail, but it was flooded. We ended up going back out the way we came in all while hustling back before any trace of daylight faded. When we reflected on the adventure we had just experienced on the trail, my wife read that they had just found a body on the trail a few hours before we were there. Definitely an adventure, but unlikely to...
