We stumbled on this place while driving around looking for a place to let our kids run around. Highly recommend taking the path to see the look out! Gorgeous views with informational signs. You can the continue down a steep 1/3 of a mile downgrade trail to an awesome outlook that sits a bit over the trees. You get an excellent view of the dam! Would not recommend this part for very young children that can’t walk on their own or for kids who are known to run off. Most of it is fenced off but can be dangerous. The park also had multiple playgrounds, one even included a zip line! Places to BBQ, sit and picnic, and a water structure that I assume they turn on in the summer. Lots of parking. The bathrooms were seriously clean, and I was impressed. Very nice park and tiny trail.

We arrived on memorial day weekend. The park was not very busy. There was plenty of parking. However, there wasn’t any water. Porta potties were clean and well stocked. We took in the views and walked the trails. There are some historic interpretive markers, but not nearly enough information on how the original inhabitants of this area dealt with the floods, true to the “corps of engineers” most everything is presented through the lens of white colonization, and how to control nature. The park itself has several play structures for children, great looking barbecues, picnic tables, and some covered shelters for groups. No overnight camping.

We went on a chill Saturday afternoon. The park was having a few parties, but it wasn't crazy. I went for the walk to the viewpoint, and it was pretty cool. Steep, but cool. Really steep. Anyway, there are several switchbacks and benches. And I saw a grandma/granddaughter duo do it, so maybe I'm exaggerating. At the bottom is a nice deck with the view of the dam. Nice hike.

We didn't see much of the Dam , this review is in reference to the areas hiking possibilities . Three of us had a very nice hike of approx 7 miles along quiet ( didn't see anyone else ) , spotlessly clean trails, while jumping over a few blow downs . The main public area had a couple of restrooms, also well maintained. We managed this hike on a Friday morning, just...
